Most Helpful Positive Review You can teach an old dog new cleansers!
I want to preface this review by saying that I'm nearly 42 years old, and it's only in the past couple of years that I felt like I didn't have the skin of a teenager. My skin is very oily, and until I finally figured out a routine that would work, was very prone to breakouts. With that being said, I was going to be very picky about changing my routine and trying a new product. My first impression of the Garnier Micellar Foaming Gel Cleanser upon feeling the thin consistency of the product was, "How is this really going to cleanse my skin?" I must say, it lives up to it's claims of gently removing my makeup. Even though it wasn't a thick as cleansers I've used in the past, it easily and gently cleansed my skin. I usually used a couple of pumps of product and gently massage it with water into my skin. After rinsing, my skin was clean, but not tight like harsher cleansers tend to make it. It was soft, supple and clean. I didn't feel like I still had makeup left behind on my skin.
The one drawback (and the reason I'm rating this a 4/5) is that it didn't remove my eye makeup like I'd hope it would. It did break it down, but I was usually left with black smears around my eyes from where my mascara wasn't completely removed. In the before/after picture I've attached, I did use baby oil to remove my eye makeup before finishing with the Garnier Micellar Foaming Gel Cleanser. That combination worked well and made me feel like I was truly going to bed with a cleansed face.
Overall, I didn't notice any negative changes to my skin. It felt clean, kept breakouts at bay, and didn't increase the oil production of my skin. This is definitely a new way of cleansing my face and I would recommend that others of all skin types try it as well.

I kept hearing great things about micellar water cleansers, and I'm always looking for simple and non drying ways to remove makeup and wash my face. I'm sorry but this was terrible. I very rarely wear mascara, which there is no WAY this would remove it if I did, this couldn't even remove eyeshadow. It's literally the worst "cleanser" I've ever used. I'm also not very prone to breakouts, and this caused me to breakout!! As in multiple zits!! I don't recall the last time I had ONE zit, let alone several! Judging by how it didn't remove makeup, I'm thinking it didn't remove anything at all, and the breakouts were probably caused my dirt, oil, and other buildup. I think the 10 days or so I used this was as if I didn't wash my face for 10 days!! It also smelled horrible. Sort of like perfume, but also sorta like just straight up "fumes", like turpentine or something?? Really weird. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the pump broke off the first time I used it, and I was having to pour it out.
All around horrible, I would never recommend this to a friend or even an enemy.

I bought this thinking it would be something I could just slap on my face and rinse off. It is a little more involved- you would be best using this with a scrubbing pad.
Bad for dry skin
Sophie from NYC
If you have a very dry skin like me your not gonna like this product because it will make it more dryer and it makes the face super tight
a nice cleanser for everyday use but..
jasmine from cali
great for everyday use, but you can always have a deep cleaner to use on days you want your skin to feel extra clean.
I would purchase this again

I like that it's gentle and good for sensitive skin. you don't have to scrub or dig in to your skin to remove the makeup. my one complaint is that it is a little thin and runny so it tends to slide off your face while you're lathering it in.
melts your make up

I love this product, but is is becoming hard to find for me. I am thankful Ulta has it. I put two pumps of this in my hands and rub it on my face. I swear it melts my make up off. I use a wash cloth to rinse it off and dry with a towel. it does a great job cleaning my skin.
Love this product. Use it at night to clean my face

I use this product for my Eyelash extensions, and I did try using it on my face. I started breaking out, I have extremely sensitive skin. Also, because the first time I have had lash Extensions Extensions and my lashes did tend to follow quicker than they should and I'm not sure if it's from this cleanser.
Absolutely incredible product

Absolutely loved this product. Just recently switched all my face products to this brand and I'm so thankful.
good for specific uses, not all. be careful!

This is really good for heavy, fun makeup looks. It is actually one of the only face washes that in my experience will remove a lot of makeup. However, it is harsh, it won't make your skin healthy. So, if you wear light makeup/no makeup and are looking for something light, please look somewhere else. For that, I recommend Burt's Bees gentle foaming wash. Also, this is the worst for people with acne. Not an acne wash for sure.
Not for me

I wanted to love this product because I love the pink Garnier micellar water but this one was a miss. The only "ok" thing about this product is that it attempts to remove makeup. But, it's extremely harsh on the skin especially if you have sensitive skin! It burns & leaves it stripped of any moisture.

it works for a few weeks and at taking off makeup but now it doesn't do anything but make my skin feel very dry
Bought for my teenage daughter loves the after look an feel

I received a sample and hated it. I used it at different times over the course of a year thinking maybe it was my skin but it would give me the same results. It was average at taking off make up, I still looked like a raccoon. But it was soooooooo drying. it would strip my skin and it didn't feel good during the wash and especially after. my skin didn't feel clean, just dry! It didn't foam up much either.

This face wash sucked for me. It did not foam up like I thought it would. It felt like a watery gel. I had to use way too much to even feel like my face was clean. It didn't clean well and it did nothing for my skin. I love their micellar makeup remover and thought it would be just as great a product but I was fooled. I hated it so much I threw it away.
Great face wash

This is a great face wash l use it every day and I'm on my second bottle. It removes all my make up and I think it works better than make up remover. My skin is way cleaner than it used to be.
i love it

i saw some reviews abt it not removing makeup but i don't wear a ton but i use miceller water with it to make sure it all comes off:)

I wanted to see if I could find a makeup remover that was less expensive than the Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm. This wasn't it. Yes, it's less expensive and it removes makeup, but you have to really work it in and my mascara is still there afterwards. Spend the extra money, it's worth it.
Not Perfect, But Very Effective....

This product has some cons that I can live with: it smells weird (kind of like plastic ?) and does not COMPLETELY remove eye makeup. Those aren't terrible cons.
It will completely remove your face makeup without overworking your skin (like makeup wipes tend to do) or drying you skin out. This helps get your face clean, but you will likely need to wash your face afterwards and continue with your skincare routine.

Best face wash for my skin. Leaves skin feeling Moisturized.
GENTLE on skin, yet powerful on makeup

After a long day in a slayed face nothing feels better than a fresh face. This product not only gets every drop of makeup but also leaves your face well moisturized.
Cleans my face but thats it
Crook from Houston
I don't like this product because it calls itself a foaming facewash, but it barely meets the minimum foaming required to call itself that. Like its WEAK SAUCE for foaming. The product is like a watery gel, it's not satisfying to use at all. Does not go a long way. Have to use more than desired.
BrazzyB from Mobile al
I have dry sensitive skin, I use this as my facial cleanser. I was actually surprised that it has some bad reviews. Ive been using this product for about 2 yrs. It helps clean the skins without over drying, but you have to be doing a skin routine. I always use a toner and moisturizer after I wash my face. I can see being dried out if your not following with some kind of moisturizer, but that's with any cleanser you use.
Works for the price
Iris from Texas
This only really took off my makeup with a towel. Just using hands it didn't take all of it off. For the price it's good though and I'll buy it again.
The Only Facewash for Me!!!
Mandyloveshippos from undisclosed
I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this facewash! I just used it for the first time and it removed all of my waterproof eyeliner and mascara so easily. My skin felt so silky smooth and soft after just one use. Thank you Garnier!!!!!
Just ok not great.

Although this product is recommended for sensitive skin it does not contain the necessary moisturizers to replenish the skin natural oils when washing your skin. I recommend following up with 100 percent aloe Vera, coconut oil, and Cetaphil lotion after using this product to prevent dryness.
