What is a course curl vs a fine curl. Is a course curl coilly and a fine curl wavy?
- Asked by Dahl
- Official Answer By DevaCurl - Brand EngageWhen we say 'hair texture' or 'curl texture', we refer to the thickness or width of the individual hair strand, better known as fine, medium or coarse. That's because waves, curls and coils can be fine, medium or coarse. Curl pattern, which we reference as waves, curls and coils, speaks to your strands' shape. The easiest way to determine your hair texture is by taking a single strand and laying it flat on a white piece of paper. If your hair is not easy to see or feel between your fingertips, appears thin, and may not hold styles well, you have fine hair texture. If your hair is visible, not hard to feel between fingertips, appears full, and holds styles fairly well, you have medium hair texture. Lastly, if your hair is highly visible, easily felt between fingertips, appears very full, and holds styles very well, your hair texture is considered coarse. Was this answer helpful to you

My wave maker product has separated, liquid and no solids came out when I opened it this morning. I shook it vigorously but it still does not seem homogenized properly. I haven't used it for over a month, but should it have separated? It is unusable.

Not just for curly hair
So, I don't have curly hair. Its kinda unevenly wavy, and I flat iron it every day. Why did they send this to me? I don't really know but I'm glad they did because I never would have tried it otherwise. I fully expected for this product to make my hair more unruly, or make it curl when I don't wan...

Decent curl product
So I have wavy hair that needs not only definition but HOLD. Like a strong hold. Unfortunately this product doesn't do that for me. I really like how it turns some of my waves into little ringlets! A product has never done that for me before. However, this product is a little heavy for my hair (lot...

I have wavy hair to begin with and i feel like this definitely enhanced my curls. The smell was good and not too strong as well. The hold for me did not last all day, which is the only reason for the 4 stars as I like my products intentions to last me through the day.

This product is the lighter option among their range of definers, suitable for wavier hair in need of a lightweight solution. While the styling cream caters to most curly hair types, the supercream is tailored for coily hair. As someone with mixed hair, I tried all three and found this one to feel light, almost like a leave-in treatment, without weighing down my hair. I found success with all three, adjusting based on the weather and my daily schedule. This particular product shines when I air dry for a softer look. For my typical workdays, I rely on the styling cream the most, while the supercream becomes my go-to for added moisture or when I use a hair dryer. Each product serves its purpose, and I appreciate and utilize them all accordingly.

My hair has never been more in love with a style product. Ive got natural waves that go absolutely crazy when the weather changes, or if there is the slightest bit of humidity in the air. This stuff has been a hair-saver for my fine hair!!!
Smell really good

Great soft cream for curls and waves. Plus it smells absolutely delicious! Seems to work well! I have dry curly hair that needs definition and control of frizz and this seems to do the job. If I just use a gel, my hair is still dry and dull, though I have control. So this hybrid product is a good option for me

The wave maker has definitely helped these ringlets shine! The smell isn't strong, it gives the curls a great hold without weighing them down. Added to the purchase list!
