The bowl and brush make coloring a breeze. Color goes on more easily with the brush, and I feel the brush makes the color go on more evenly too.The clips are a definite must have so that you can divide the hair in four sections to do the roots. Store bought works just as well
Buy clips and comb at local store. The applicator brush is handy and makes you feel like a pro using it, but it isn't worth $18. Not sure why there is a bowl since the color is mixed in the bottle.

Chips broke

Turned out I didn't even use the bowl or brush. I find it just as easy to squirt a line of color and rub it in with my finger tips. The clips… 1 arrived broken, 1 broke as soon as I attempted to squeeze the ends to open it. I have 2 left and they don't seem to grasp hair very tight and doesn't stay closed at the ends. They need to be stronger.
