1. Select the attachment for your desired style. Align the dot on the attachment with the dot on the power base, then push in until you hear a click. Once secured, plug in the iron and press the power button to turn on.
2. Adjust the heat setting according to your hair type to help protect the integrity of your hair. See our Temperature Guide below or inside product box.
3. Make sure hair is 100% dry before styling. Detangle strands for easier, more efficient styling.
4. Apply Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press Heat Protectant for thermal protection.
5. To use the Hot Comb: Hold a 1-2" section of hair out with one hand and use the other to run the comb from roots to ends.
6. To use the 0.75" - 0.35" Tapered Wand: Place the base of the iron close to the head and wrap a section of hair around it.
7. To use the 1.25" Clip Barrel: Hold the barrel horizontally for loose waves and vertically for spiral curls.
8. Allow curls to cool completely before brushing or combing.
9. To set your style, spray hair with your favorite Paul Mitchell finishing spray for a lasting finish.
10. After styling, turn off and unplug.
11. To turn the iron on/off, press the power button once.
12. When turned on, the LCD screen will display the default temperature setting of 360°F (182°C). Use +/- button to adjust temperature.
13. To lock or unlock the temperature setting, hold the power button for 2 seconds. Must unlock before turning off.
14. The temperature will rise on the screen. When it stops, the iron is ready to use.
15. To switch attachments, wait until the iron is completely cool, then press the base stand to release and attach a new one.
16. Allow iron to cool completely. Press base stand down to release the attachment.

Note: The hot comb attachment comes with a removable shield designed to help protect against burns. Always use the shield during styling. To attach it, align the arrow so it points downward toward the neck of the hot comb and slide it into place. To detach it, let the tool cool completely. Then, pull the shield up firmly to slide it off the hot comb. When plugging the appliance into the outlet prior to use, be aware that the appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
