COOLA uses Alumina/Aluminum Hydroxide as a coating for titanium dioxide, as it prevents it from clumping and allows an even application. It forms as a refractive layer that helps reflect UV rays away from the skin. Alumina/Aluminum Hydroxide is not to be confused with the controversial Aluminum Chlorohydrate or Aluminum Zirconium, which is used in antiperspirant type products and potentially believed to be a endocrine disruptor/cancer causing ingredient.Was this answer helpful to you

My favorite tinted sunscreen by far
Finally a totally mineral sunscreen for me! I have olive skin and all tinted sunscreens look too light on me. The Coola medium/deep shade is perfect. It is very smooth and easy to apply and gives a flattering, very natural color. I love it! It's expensive but worth every dollar.

Smells terrible and doesn't apply like it used to

Had been using this product for over a decade now. It was my go to for everyday wear. I loved the application and finish. Ordered a new bottle and noticed it has a really unpleasant smell. A smell that I could continue to smell on my skin the rest of the day. I thought I got a bottle close to expiration and maybe it went bad, but date says 02-2027 and after reading reviews I can confirm they changed something. It smells bad and doesn't go on like it used to. PLEASE BEING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA!

Formula changed
I first got this a few months ago and while it was pricey, I decided it was worth it. It was highly rated by Yuka, it smelled nice, and it gave me such a nice glow. Like the others have said, they changed the formula, and now everything good about it is gone. It smells weird, it doesn't give any glow, Yuka now rates it as Poor, AND it has mica in it now :( will be returning. Bring the old formula back please!

Coverage is nice but the PILLING!!
I really wanted to love this. The coverage, tone, and finish is really nice BUT the PILLING is terrible. Regardless of if i apply it over other products or onto bare skin it pills severely. Also if you have any texture it will accentuate it. A bummer
