Helpful Styling Hints
Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
Comb out a 2-inch section of hair and place hair ends between the Barrel and Clamp. The Clamp should be on top of the hair.
Using one hand to hold the Cool Tip and the other to hold the curling iron Handle, roll under for a curl and over for a flip.
Leave the iron in fine hair for 5 to 8 seconds, and 10 to 15 seconds for thick hair.
Press Thumb Grip to release hair.
Allow curls to cool before combing or brushing.
When styling is complete, slide the "on/off" switch to the "off" position. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing.

As a "higher end" curling iron I expected a little more from this product than I received. Worst curling iron ever
I've never had a curling iron that did not curl my hair. This curling iron holds a curl for about 20min before it's back to my straight hair. I've tried it many times hoping it was user error but it is terrible. Don't buy. Waste of money.
Best curling iron ever
Please dont read the bad reviews. 1. Have you treated your strands before you put the heat on your hair? 2.did you completely dry your hair & spray protective heat & lightly oil your hair? 3.curling your hair do you smell burnt hair? If so did you clean the iron with baking soda or green alcohol every Chance you used you had to keep the iron clean every used & whipped the brown stain off your hair your hair will last longer plus your iron give me thumbs up if you agree with taking care of your hair & the product. Better take classes online about how to be a stylist or learn not over process your hair.
Don't buy
I was so excited to try this curling iron amd was dissapointed by the reaults. It snags on hair and doesn't glide easily. The curls dont last at all and even made my hair look frizzy even with product in it.
Ceramic coating flakes off
I've had this Hot Tools Ceramic curling iron less than 4 months, used perhaps 10 times, and the black ceramic coating is coming off the barrel right under the clip. My hair is fine and I've never set it higher than 350. It's going straight into the trash, don't waste your money on this one!

I replaced my old version of this ceramic barrel curling iron with a new version. I wore out the old one. I'm very particular about not having the power and heat control on the handle itself to interfere with consistent temps while in use.
