Great brand, totally missed the mark with this product sadly

I hate leaving a bad review as I really respect the mission and quality ingredients of this brand but at the very premium pricepoint this new launch is utterly disappointing and the worst Cleansing Oil I have ever tried. It shouldn't even be called a cleansing oil because it is a straight oil blend ...and nothing more. I have tried dozens upon dozens of Cleansing Oils over the years between Kbeauty and mainstream brands and to date Caudalie's is my die hard staple. I use them for eye makeup remover since my teens as nothing is more gentle and way less messy than cleansing balm jars. Where that oil differs is among great ingredients it effortlessly in one pump removes my heavy eye makeup aka very rich black liquid liner and mascara. No smearing, turns milky with water, washes off clean and as I dont wear waterproof spf or foundation I only use on my face a few times a month for a deep clean of pores. I have combo very congestion/blemish prone skin and as anyone similar knows. oil anything no matter the claim of non pore clogging can be your enemy why I can never moiaturize with it nor use thick cleansing oils that leave a film or residue behind which is why most always have to follow with a cleanser unless you have super dry and not remotely breakout prone skin which isn't many people. I love the regular Gel Wash of this line being of the only gel cream hybrids on the market compared to gel or cream cleansers and leaves skin so soft hydrated snd lush while still managing to deep clean my tzone pores which are the bain of my existsnce lol. When the brand launched this oil I figured it would be perfect to add in as a prewash a few times a week and possibly even battle my eye makeup. Not in this lifetime as first and foremost this doesn't cleanse whatsoever per not emulsifying in any way and having zero slip. Why even call it a cleansing oil when adding water does nothing which is the kiss of death for anyone breakout prone. You may as well be using a straight oil blend off etsy or one you make at home followed with the old school warm or hot face towel removal many swear by for ages but has never worked for me. It smells lovely and the oils used are super light however no matter how much I kept adding to my face within 10 seconds of attempting to massage it around it immediately absorbs into your skin and you end up dragging your fqce. It acts completely as an oil moisturizer and not worth the price in any way. As much as I adore green and natural quality product lines like this not every product can be a winner even if the ingredients look good on paper. Dont recommend this to any skin type outside of using it as a moisturizer finishing step because calling it a cleanser is a joke. It would smear even light tinted mascara yet alone real makeup when it cant even work on a clean care face as I tried. The only other product that bombed horribly for me in the line prior is the Sea Water Night Cream. Smells spoiled and looks like curdled dairy anytime you get new jar as if years old. Some of their formulas just dont work but will always adore the Gel Wash and Day Lotion!
