For every day use: Apply desired amount to freshly shampooed hair. Leave for 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
For an intense conditioning treatment: Apply desired amount to freshly shampooed hair. Allow masque to remain on hair for 5 to 10 minutes. Comb product through hair with a wide tooth comb. Apply heat. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Steam from a warm shower or hot towel can also be used to create heat for intense conditioning. If you have access to a hooded drier, this is another option for intense conditioning. I had high hopes for this product since my daughter has dry hair. Hopefully after using it more it will work better. She applied it for 5 minutes as instructed then rinsed. I love this masque, it's the first product that delivers consistent results after each use. You can use it daily but honestly I don't feel I need to use it every time I wash. This will be a main staple in my routine for sure. Along with the blow dry spray that I've used for years and I'm obsessed with!
Changed Formula?
I'm not sure what is going on, but I've been buying this for a few years and it's always worked great on my chemically treated hair. It wouid smooth, moisturize, and soften my hair beautifully. This last time I purchased, I noticed something weird when I'd apply to my hair. Best way to describe is almost like my hair was tangled when I put the masque on. When I rinsed it out, my hair felt so rough and not silky, to the point that after towel drying it, I had a hard time brushing it, when it's always been beautifully conditioned once out of shower. Third time, I noticed the same thing with a weird texture felt on my hair after applying a dallop of the product, so I grabbed more of the masque in between my fingers to feel the actual product, and it's all gritty like there's sand in it. It grossed me out. Absolutely not what you want to feel in a conditioner for your hair. Needless to say, it's being returned. Not sure if I'll exchange it for another one after this ordeal as it's pricey as is but will deal with it soon. Regardless, I'm annoyed and grossed out that there's a gritty texture to this masque that I've put in my hair 3x's now, and who knows what it is but quality control was missed on this one.

A Great Daily Conditioner
I USE THIS DAILY TO MAINTAIN THICK MEDIUM LENGTH HIGHLIGHT HAIR. FOR THE PRICE, IT SHOULD BE 6.7 OUNCES IN LIEU OF 5.1. I'VE WRITTEN KENRA SEVERAL TIMES TO OFFER A LARGER SIZE AS COST SAVINGS WITH NO SUCCESS.

Definitely wouldn't recommend for fine or straight hair. I have thick, wavy hair, and this works wonders. Leaves my hair shiny and looking like I just left the salon.
