Q&A

Q
I've seen these everywhere and I'm still not quite sure how they work. I'm visually impaired- blind in my right eye. I have a tendency to stab myself with my mascara wand when I have a dizzy spell or get too close to the mirror. (I also have left third cranial nerve palsy, which means my eyes are completely dilated and don't move all the way.) Could someone help me with this please?

Verified Reply - Staff ExpertThis tool is used to help avoid getting mascara on your skin. You hold the tool against your skin underneath you bottom lashes when you apply mascara, so the extra mascara will go onto the guard instead of your skin underneath your lashes. It works the same for your upper lashes as well! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How exactly does one use the "Ulta beauty Mascara Guard". I'm giving it as a gift but not sure how easy to use and effective it is.
Asked by Pat
Verified Reply - Staff ExpertSimply hold the tool so the wide end of the tool is underneath (behind) your lower lashes, or above (behind) your upper lashes when applying mascara. The wide end of the tool will act as a barrier so the mascara does not get on your skin behind your lashes. Was this answer helpful to you

Seems silly but super useful

I felt very dumb buying this, plus i didn't realize how much it was until i checked out. But once i started using it, absolutely no regrets! I have small very hooded eyes and wearing mascara has always sucked for me. I was to a point where i couldn't wear anything except thick eyeliner when i wore m...

Nothing special

I loved the idea behind this tool, however I feel like it prevents me from being able to actually apply my mascara normally. I'd rather just wipe off any mascara that gets on my upper or lower lids.

Worthless!

This tool was half price but even that was too much. The goal was to avoid getting mascara on the lid area where liner and shadow are already applied. It's awkward to work with, hold in left hand while mascara is in the right hand? Then make it an L shape . You must wash it between doing the other eye. Way too much effort .

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Works pretty well but a little awkward trying to hold this and your mascara wand, but it did help me with my application on my lower lashes from getting everywhere.

Super weird

I thought I would enjoy it more than I did, I always get black mascara on my lid of my eyes, thought this would help, but it turns out it's just easier to wipe off the mascara than to try to use that .

I like the feel of this tool. It feels (and looks) expensive. The rubber guard is the perfect size. I use it for my bottom lashes. #Perfect👌🏽
