Skin Type: Combination (dry areas during the winter) Concerns: Oily T-Zone (breaks up my makeup after a long day) TLDR; I gave it an overall 4/5 stars because I enjoyed using the product and the affordability. The scent was a bit overpowering (for me, but if you enjoy a sweet scent you'll love it).... Surprisingly, after the spray set in the scent became more manageable and turned into more of a subtle, sweet scent that lingers on your face for a while after (I got many compliments about how good I smelled that day). I tested out the marshmallow setting spray by NYX the only way you truly can; by wearing it for the entirety of the day with zero touchups (and I'm talking 12+ hours, but the bottle itself says that it could last up to 16 hours). According to the description, some of the main selling points are setting the skin with a matte-finish, reducing shine, smoothing make-up, blurring pores, and smelling delicious. I'm here to report that most everything listed is true. I'm not usually a person who reaches for a matte-finish or a sweet scent, but that being said, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using this product. It left a matte finish without looking too one-dimensional on the skin and it helped my makeup stay put for 12+ hours . As for the blurring and smoothing claims, from my experience, I would say there was a little bit of that, but it wasn't the main thing I noticed about the formula. Overall, I will be reaching for this throughout the holiday season because it worked well and I received a record number of compliments about how good I smelled. So if you're looking for a sweet scented treat to add to your make up routine and you enjoy a matte-finish, this affordable drugstore make up brand has successfully created an accessible setting spray that works well. I'd definitely say if you don't mind the super sweet smell it's a setting spray I would reach for on a regular basis, especially during the holiday season if you are going to be around a lot of people at a holiday party or hanging out with your crush to add an unexpected sweet twist to your routine.
