Upon opening the cap, everything looked smooth and perfect and i caught a bit of the wonderful strawberry scent. However as soon as i swirled my finger over the top to try the product, under the very top smooth layer is HUNDREDS of little tiny gritty balls??? This is not what i want to be putting on...

Lovely color, long lasting
First thing's first, I HAVE to use a lip mask at night. Chapsticks and lip balms don't last overnight for me because I have to sleep with a night guard for bruxism. This is the first lip mask I've ever found that lasts all night. My lip mask had lots of little gritty pieces when I first started using it. Upon googling, I found out it's the shea butter and if you warm it up to let it melt a bit then put it straight in the fridge, it's smooth as can be. The scent and flavor are so nice, and a little goes a long way.
Love the way this looks and feels
Unless my lips are super chapped, this lip mask lasts all night and even gives me a pretty pink, moisturizing tint upon waking. I do rotate this with Tree Hut's strawberry lip mask, which I use when I'm outside a lot during our handful of weeks of cold, windy weather. I love Essence's bouncy, rich texture, though, for the bulk of the year. It definitely works and feels like a much higher end, luxury brand!

Uber-moisturizing
This lip mask is pretty spectacular! It has a soft pink tint to it, very light, sweet scent, it's thick enough to last all night long and is easy to apply. This could only be better if it was in a component that you could apply one-handed. But for this price? I'll be buying more for stocking stuffers for my coworkers!!
