I have natural African American hair and I am interested in straightening it. I only wear my hair straight once, maybe twice a year, so I don't want it to stay straight permanently. I typically use the regular Chi Silk Infusion; however, my local store only has the Keratin Silk Infusion. The keratin in the product doesn't have any straightening affects like keratin treatments, correct? Does the product still work the same? Have good quality? Lastly, which is probably weird, but I love the smell of the original silk infusion, is this smell similar? Thank you in advance!

You may utilize this product in place of the Silk Infusion for the hairstyle you are trying to achieve. The difference is that the Keratin Silk Infusion compared to the Silk Infusion has more moisturizing agents and protein and will help re-construct damaged hair. I have type 2a hair meaning that its slightly wavy and it always looks dead and weird and like i just got out of bed, but this made it so shiny and healed that I got asked so many times if I started a new hair routine.
