The Hydro-Star Recovery patches are amazing when my skin needs extra care. Whenever I accidentally pick at a spot or my skin feels dry and irritated, these stars really help calm everything down. So they do help recovery. I've found as someone with a severe picking issue (littéral holes in my skin bad) that pimple patches in general help me with picking, as the change in texture from skin reminds me that I'm picking and helps me to stop. But any patch does that, and the harsher edges of the stars sometimes actually bring more discomfort to cause picking. As for actual repair, in my experience, these seem to do pretty well in reducing redness, irritation, etc. But again, for me, most patches do that. I've found these don't stick as well as other patches. I normally use just some basic hydrochloride patches from my local grocery store, and those can stay on my face for days even with my persistent face touching. Whereas the star patches came off within the first evening I tried them. To be fair I also have a hairy face, and a bit of a unibrow where I get a lot of my spots, so it is difficult to find a patch that can still get to the damage through my fuzz. I think a main issue for the staying power is that the prongs of the stars snag easier, but it's still not good. In conclusion, I don't really recommend these for practical use, if you're really against the look of other patches, then sure, just know that these don't stick very well. Especially for my fellow hairy people.
