Is this a single use or is there enough in the bottle for more than one use?
- Asked by Lauren
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageThere are multiple uses of Glossy Glaze in each bottle! Depending on your hair length and thickness, this can vary. Can i use this on my gray hair
- Asked by Susan
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze won't cover grays, but if you're looking to enhance your silver strands, try Sheer or Cool Blonde to boost shine. If you're looking to cover grays, check out our Root Touch-Up Kit for targeted gray coverage. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What are the differences between the glossy glaze and the gloss+? Specificity dark brown?
- Asked by Dorin
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze delivers glass-like shine and deep conditioning when left on for 3 to 20 minutes. It’s a low-commitment treatment that fades in about 3 washes. Gloss+ is a quick 2-minute color-boosting conditioner that adds shine and enhances color, lasting up to 8 washes. Was this answer helpful to you

How long will this stay in my hair? I accidentally got too dark of a color and it looks like really bad like muddy green/gray tone brown. One wash helped a little, but do I need to do a color stripper, it's not cute. Ruined my highlights
- Asked by Muddy brown
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageWe’re so sorry to hear that the shade didn’t turn out as expected. Glossy Glaze is a temporary tint, so the color will fade gradually with each wash, typically within a few shampoos. You don’t need a color stripper, which can be too harsh, especially on highlighted hair. To help the color fade faster, try washing with a clarifying shampoo and warm water. Following up with a deep conditioner can help rehydrate your highlights as the tint lifts. Next time, we recommend choosing the Glossy Glaze shade that matches the lightest pieces of your hair, as deeper shades may temporarily tone down or cover them. A strand test is always a great way to preview results before applying all over. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Will this cover grays for a redhead?
- Asked by Grays
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze will not fully cover grays. It’s a temporary shine treatment with a sheer tint that may help slightly blend or soften the appearance of gray hairs, but it won’t deliver full gray coverage like a permanent color would. If you're a redhead looking to add shine and refresh your tone, Glossy Glaze can help enhance the overall look of your color—just know that your grays will still be visible, though a bit more blended. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Will it cover grays at your roots?
- Asked by Lucrecia
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze is a temporary shine treatment with a sheer tint—it will not cover gray hair. If you're looking to blend or fully cover grays, we recommend using our Root Touch-Up Kit, which is formulated for precise gray coverage with salon-quality results. Glossy Glaze is best for adding shine and subtle tone to enhance your existing color, not for coverage. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Do I use a conditioner as well?
- Asked by None
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze acts like a conditioning gloss, so most hair types won’t need an extra conditioner after using it. But if your hair is very dry, thick, or textured, you can absolutely follow with a lightweight conditioner or leave-in for added moisture. Apply Glossy Glaze to clean, damp hair- make sure to squeeze out all excess water before applying. Leave it on for 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly before deciding if your hair needs anything extra. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Is this product good for highlights? I want to be able to use as toner. To refresh highlights. My highlights get brassy.
- Asked by Jen
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageIf your goal is to tone brassiness in highlights, try our Glossy Glaze in Cool Blonde instead of Sheer. It’s designed to add shine and gently tone warm or yellow tones in blonde or highlighted hair. You can also try our Gloss+ Toning Purple deep conditioner, which helps neutralize brassiness while keeping your hair soft. Either are a great way to refresh your highlights and keep your color looking salon-fresh between appointments! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can a conditioner be used with this? Either before or after application?
- Asked by Alex
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGlossy Glaze is a conditioning shine treatment, so most don’t need a separate conditioner. For best results, apply to clean hair after squeezing out excess water (hair should be wet, not dripping) then rinse out. If your hair is very dry or thick, feel free to follow with a leave-in conditioner. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
can the glossy glaze be mixed with a conditioner or hair mask for boosted moisturizing and easier appliction? asking for the v curly girlies :)
- Asked by kcr7
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageWhile it might be tempting to mix Glossy Glaze with a conditioner or mask, we recommend using it as is to get the full glossy, high-shine effect. If you do want to customize it, try a strand test first—diluting the formula can minimize the results Glossy Glaze is designed to deliver. Was this answer helpful to you

A HAIR GLOSS you can literally put on in the SHOWER.
Um excuse me? What was that? You're telling me that the dpHue Sheer Transparent Glossy Glaze is put on IN THE SHOWER and not afterwards?! Yes ladies and gents - this amazing hair gloss you put on IN THE SHOWER after shampooing your hair. Skip the conditioner because this pretty much IS a "conditioni...

Not for me
I've been searching for my "holy grail" hair product that can boost both my hair's shine and health while reducing frizz, so I was thrilled to have the chance to try this product for free in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, my experience was just so-so. For context, I have thin hair tha...

gives shine but that's about it
I got the copper for my copper dyed hair. it did nothing for coloring or toning. the only thing it did do was give my hair a lot of shine. I got this to try different products for toning my hair between appointments, so far this is the only one that hasn't toned my hair.
Too Messy with No Effect
This product stained more of my shower than any difference it made in my hair. I already have a salon-grade gloss in my hair, but it is beginning to fade so I tried the Dark Brown shade. It has a lot of purple hue to it and when using as directed, it got everywhere in my shower. I left it on for 10 minutes (longer than the recommended time) and noticed little to no change in my hair color or brightness. The smell is also chemically but it seems that the brand tried to cover it with something, making it even more noticeable. Hard pass on this one.
Trust the Reviews
I needed a quick temporary fix between appointments after my money pieces ended up a little too blonde. While this product does work, be wary if your hair is light. I used the dark brown glaze & both my dark brunette hair and bronde money pieces were left with a very green tint. The smell is not pleasant at all - Stronger than a typical toner - but it does go away after the next wash.
Great for my "never dyed" hair
I use this occasionally in Copper on my naturally curly, naturally coppery red hair. I have hair to my shoulder blades and use 1/4-1/3 of a bottle for 3 minutes. It does a lovely job of adding shine, dimension, and vibrancy to my natural color. It even *tints* the greys! After I've applied it, my hair looks like it has very natural, sun-kissed highlights. I wish it lasted past the first shampoo, and I wish the scent wasn't as strong as it is. It's not unpleasant, but it's definitely present. I recognize that not everyone has a good experience with the product. I do wonder if it does better with hair that has never had peroxide/ammonia/traditional hair dye…just a thought. I like it, and I think it does what it clams to do, for my hair.
Will turn hair green
This is an awful product. Will turn hair green and leave it feeling dry and brittle.
