I love the original Fresh Cream as well as the Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, so I was very intrigued to get my nose on the Fresh Cream Soft Velvet. Keep in mind that I am a vanilla girlie who also enjoys florals and other unique scents. I will say that I expected this release it to be a creamy (and lac...tonic), heavy, chocolatey vanilla with a hint of floral because of it being in the fresh cream category - but to my surprise, it opens with a burst of ginger, but not a spicy ginger, just enough ginger to give the scent a somewhat fresh opening. The ginger then dies down and you are greeted with such a beautiful, velvety Lily note which is so unique to my nose. I don't believe I own a Lily fragrance so this is a first. Once the fragrance dries down you get this creamy, ambery, slightly chocolatey Lily (but not lactonic), and it is so warm, cozy and inviting. The Chocolate is not prominent just fyi, at least not to my nose and I'm not mad at it because chocolate scents can be cloying. When I was testing the fragrance out my husband walked into the room and loved what he smelt in the air. When I asked him to desribe it he said "a unique vanilla" and that's exactly what it is! I wore it to bed and he loved it on my skin. I would say the Lily is the star of the show as it stays consistent throughout the wear of the fragrance, and it is blended so beautifully with all the other notes that it does not come across as a sharp floral, but a sligtly sweet, creamy, velvety and warm floral - I do not own anything like it in my vast fragrance collection and I'm so happy to have it! Longevity = I wore it to bed and could still smell it on my skin slightly in the morning. Projection is moderate but if you spray a good amount on it's actually pretty strong.
