For the first time, I'm EXCITED to write a review!!
I need to start by talking about my hair. I have longer (about 5 inches below my shoulders), thick, fine hair. Because of this, most hair products leave my hair greasy, limp, lifeless and feeling dirty. Typically, I use a color protection shampoo & conditioner, and the tiniest amount of a leave in treatment (think smaller than the size of a chap stick cap) and only on the ends. I usually let my air dry the majority of the way, and use a blow dryer the rest of the way. I do use a flat iron or curling iron 3-4 days a week. I've been working on growing my hair out so I can donate it, and I have about an inch to an inch and a half left to go before I can cut it. Because of that, my ends have been looking less than their best. I've tried several different products and nothing made them look better and just ended up making my hair look dirty.
When I found this product, I hesitated because of the higher price tag. But because I received the "Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask" as a freebie from Ulta during my birth month and LOVED it, I figured I would try it. And with Ulta's return policy, I figured I had nothing to lose. I wish I had found this product earlier! The scent is incredibly light, but dissipates quickly once in the hair. I put a few drops in the palm of my hand (few drops did wonders) and smoothed the product from the area where my ponytail sits down to my ends on towel dried hair and combed it through. Initially, my hair felt "heavy" and weighted down as most oils do, and I figured this would be another dud for me. But as my hair dried, the heaviness went away. Once I dried and styled it, I was shocked how soft my ends were. Even my husband commented how my hair looked different and felt amazing. I've used this almost every day for the past week and a half and my hair still looks amazing. It's never looked greasy or dull. It's still so soft and the ends look less and less damaged. This is absolutely a product that will stay in my rotation. I'm not sure what the dried flower in the bottle is there for, but it makes it pretty at least. This product, to me, is worth the cost and a little goes a long way.
I was browsing for an oil for my hair after a sample of the Gisou honey oil literally worked miracles on my dry split ends. Let's be honest though.. it's hardly affordable. Anyway, bought this one as an employee recommended it as the best hair oil she has used. She asked if I prefer an oil that would sit on top of my hair, or one that my hair would absorb. Chose the latter, of course you want your hair to absorb it, right? Well, unfortunately this oil was just not it- at all. My hair ended up greasy, weighed down, and somehow even more dry, 'crunchy', and frizzy. I have a lot of hair so I used 3 drops, working into my ends then finger combing the excess through full length. It felt a bit sticky when rubbing it together in my hands, and didn't spread well or feel smooth and silky. Although my ends are dry from my balayage, my hair is pretty healthy, bouncy, and shiny overall. It has tendencies to tangle, though. I normally just use a little leave in conditioner and it's perfect. The fact this oil left my hair feeling substantially worse was disappointing to say the least. Can't recommend this if you have similiar hair, sorry! ☹️
Good stuff. Tamed my frizzy hair.
smells great & semi light-weight
it's hard out here for a silicone snob to find a hair "oil " thar is not just packed with silicone. many of them are great but too heavy for my baby fine hair (I have a ton it's the hair that's fine) for after shower or everyday use. this is not one of them. I also was trying to get away from the olaplex oil because I like ingredients that are actually adding to my hairs moisture and not just making it look shiny. this is fantastic for after shower or everyday use.
This is a perfect product for my 2B waves. It defines the curls and I have no frizz! I love this product!
I currently bleach my hair and had been using the Olaplex hair oil and wasn't really loving it. Also, I've been trying to move away from Olaplex in general. the Olaplex was making my hair look more greasy than shiny, and I wasn't really seeing a difference. I wanted to try something new so I was going between this and the Verb Ghost Oil. I decided to go with this one because it had some restorative ingredients where as the Verb Ghost Oil was just a straight hair oil. when I got home I used this oil on one side and the Olaplex on the other to compare. I immediately saw a difference. While the Olaplex side looked greasy and weighed down the Briogeo side was shiny and soft. Also, while I didn't mind the smell of Olaplex this one smells so good. My hair type is thin, but I have a lot of it, so it's pretty thick looking. Depending on your hair your mileage may vary, but I would recommend.
