Q&A

Showing 5 out of 10 Questions
Q
Can this product be used with the niacinamide serum?
Asked by Es
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
The Discoloration Correcting Serum can be used along with the Niacinamide Serum. However, there is already 4% niacinamide in the Discoloration Correcting Serum and the Niacinamide Serum contains 10% of the ingredient. While there is no harm in layering the two products, it may be a better idea to alternate if the skin is sensitive to higher percentages of niacinamide. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi, Can this serum and the Good molecules Brightening serum both mixed together in a bottle and then used? To avoid an extra step, of using them separately.
Asked by Sunshine
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
We do not recommend combining the two products into one bottle. Each product has its own preservative system designed to retain the integrity of the specific set of ingredients within each formulation. For maximum efficacy, the products should be layered one over the other. This gives the skin a chance to absorb the intended amount of each ingredient before the next product is applied. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can you use for dark circles around your eyes?
Asked by Discoloration correcting serum
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
The Discoloration Correcting Serum can be used in the eye area. It can potentially help with dark circles only if they stem from hyperpigmentation. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this be used on any parts of your body where you have dark spots?
Asked by Kisha
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
While the Discoloration Correcting Serum can be used on the body, it is formulated to be used on the face. For better results on the body, we recommend our Discoloration Correcting Body Treatment, which contains the same key ingredient as the serum with the addition of a few other ingredients like LHA and acetyl glucosamine to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin. With this product, we recommend avoiding the eye area and intimate areasWas this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this be used with vitamin C?
Asked by Steph
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
The Discoloration Correcting Serum can be used with vitamin C. The key ingredients in the serum are cetyl tranexamate mesylate (a tranexamic acid derivative) and niacinamide. Studies show that tranexamic acid is compatible with vitamin C. Outdated research from the 60's has suggested that pure vitamin c, or l-ascorbic acid, cannot be combined with niacinamide but these studies were done using non-stabilized forms of both ingredients. Niacinamide and Vitamin C are safe/stable nowadays and can be used together. Was this answer helpful to you

Keeps my melasma in check without irritation

Thrilled to see Good Molecules at Ulta! I first purchased the *Discoloration Correcting Serum* last year as part of a trio (which included the *Niacinamide Toner* and *Daily Brightening Serum*) to combat melasma as well as hyperpigmentation left by acne rosacea and eczema flares. I'd run out of a pr...

not for sensitive skin

After a lot of trial and error and money spent on quality skincare, I had finally gotten my sensitive skin to a point where it was staying soft, smooth, and relatively hydrated, and I was very pleased. I do have some melasma from intense sun exposure in the past, and it is the one skincare problem I...

So I love this product, it really does work. Every time I try to use something else, I always come back to this one. The only con is that it doesn't last, so I feel like I'm constantly replacing the bottle.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This stuff makes my skin look AMAZING, but it has not helped fade any acne scars which is the main reason I bought it. I do have a glowy, more even tone though! A little goes a long way.

Wanted this to work :(

I've suffered from hyperpigmentation forever and had heard that tranexamic acid is a god send for that, so figured I'd pick this up! After 3 days of using it I've had the deepest painful cystic acne. I couldnt figure out if it was normal purging or an intense reaction so i stopped it all together. If purging is normal with this product, let me know! Otherwise it didnt work for my skin
