Worked fine until it broke.
The glass nail file is gorgeous. It worked well, smooth filing, no ragged edges. However, it is fragile. After only having it a couple of weeks, I dropped it and it broke in half, right at the point where the file abuts the handle. It should be manufactured to withstand everyday impacts.

I have not used another type nail file, since getting this one as a bonus item with a bundle purchase. In addition, OPI is the best crystal nail file I have found. The others I have tried, since, do not have a good surface area, nor are they 2 sided. Of course it will break if you drop it, it is glass after all; I keep mine in the tube. It would be nice if the tube were a bit sturdier or better looking; but my original tube (and file) has lasted for 6 years and is still going strong. I have since purchased 3 more: upstairs, downstairs, work, purse. Greatest thing since sliced bread, flush toilets, air conditioning, tampons...you get the idea.

I have a GERMANIKURE crystal nail file, but it doesn't compare to the O.P.I one. I use it after I clip my nails so they are not jagged and the possibly of them getting caught or torn, it leaves them smooth and does a great job.

So far this is working incredibly well. I am wondering how long it can last, but right now I love how quick and easy it is to shape my nails. The feel of it takes a little getting used to, but it is actually so much better than the big files I have been using. I try to only use it while sitting on the couch or something as I have heard that it will shatter if dropped on tile or granite. I will be buying more of them to give as gifts!
