Not hydrating, maybe it was old?
Bought it as I just like a light color corrector, that is hydrating. Pacifica made a great one, then they changed it, and stopped making it. Tried once, out of the box, and it was DRYING. Like a foundation. I am 54 and foundations are not helpful to middle aged skin. You want something hydrating smooth. Perhaps this was an old tube, but I'm taking it back. Not sure what to try next.

While the original CC cream didn't work for me, I tried this hydrating version and it's a dream for my dry skin- a little goes a long way and it smooths out my pores, covers my redness, and lasts all day. My only complaint is that my shade falls between the too fair 120N and too dark 205N, so I have to buy both and mix them everyday. I can't find any other formula that compares yet though, so I'll do it. (ELF, please make a shade in between these two, it's a big jump in value/shades!)
