Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty nice, not for the faint of heart I have 2 colors of this. I have Pomegranate and Pink Quartz. They both have a consistency difference that I think is noticeable. They are both fairly hydrating, but not like medicated burts bees.
First off, we have the color Pomegranate. I like the color, but I don't wear it often. Rookie mistake with this balm: not for the faint of heart! It is SUPER pigmented and will stain your lips. This is like a lip stain. I think it is more creamy than the other color. I dab it on so I lose most of the hydration factor. However it's still a nice color.
Second, we have Pink Quartz. I use this one the most often since it is light and super natural. Only problem I have with this color, is it is pretty light so it "spices" your lips up instead of changing the color. This is more hydrating than the other one I feel. This one is more of the balm consistency than the creamy consistency.
Overall, I enjoy them, I think there are better products on the market if you are looking for tinted hydration, but this is more glossy on the lips so I will continue to buy.
Most Helpful Critical Review Lot of color, lacking moisture My mom and I were excited to try these balms so we each picked up one: she got Nude Rose, I got Peach-Pink. The display in the store had a clear piece of plastic that had swatches printed on, but of course they don't reflect how sheer some tints can be so my advice is do NOT go by this to pick your color! I recommend Googling for swatch images from beauty-reviewers.
I ended up exchanging Peach-Pink for the Coral, as the Peach-Pink wasn't enough color for me. Little on the sheer side, and I'd recommend it for a slightly natural look. Coral was perfect pop o' color! Stayed put after eating/drinking, but had to reapply eventually as the areas where the most "smacking" happens was loosing its pigment.
In terms of moisture, we agree that it doesn't deliver on that promise at all. Have to reach for Chapstick after about 30 minutes.
For those that claimed there was a strong smell, we didn't notice them with ours. Could just depend on the color. There's a smell but nothing strange that would turn me off from using it.
We're gonna keep these to live in our purses for quick pops of color, but wouldn't rely on them for long-wear usage and definitely won't rely on them for moisturizing.

I just purchased this lip balm in Berry at my local Ulta! I have never spent more than $6 on a lip gloss but decided to splurge and I'm so glad I did! I'm not a youngster anymore and didn't want the shiny gummie look. This lip balm is perfect! I love the color and the texture of it!

Spiced color 5

I got this as a gift. I got spiced color 11, it's a coral/brown deep red but once applied it looked like a dark coral red. it's very pigmented for the first application! Love it and it sticks on. It does "bleed" on the side of your lips just watch out. Love love. Definitely recommend!

Love the color and love how soft my lips feel. And the color stays on for a long time!
Love it! 5

What a great lip balm. I happen to love the color pay off. I have auburn hair and green eyes, so I decided to try the poppy shade. I normally wear shades of orange or peach lipstick and this shade is great. I wish Benefit would add more colors such as a warm peach shade.
Perfect combo of moisture and tint 5

This product is moisturizing and smooth without being sticky. I purchased it in Berry and was pleasantly surprised by the color. It provides moisture and full coverage color. The packaging is also great.
Pink Quartz 5
JJ from North Carolina
I LOVE this lip balm in Pink Quartz. It is a very natural, sheer pink (not heavily pigmented like the other shades). I bought this to replace my Dior Lip Glow in the shade Raspberry. I needed a subtle pink for my neutral toned lips and I found their shade to be a bit neon for my golden skin tone, and not moisturizing enough. This Pink Quartz does all of that for me and I am pleasantly surprised how soft and subtly pink my lips are even after it has rubbed off. Please DO NOT change the formula of this shade, I will continue to buy. And if you make more shades that are sheer as this one, I will buy!
Absolutely would purchase again 4

I always have fun and find what I need at Ulta
Not a lip balm 2
Michelle from Cali
This is a lipstick. It's not a sheer color like in most of the pictures and it's actually kind of drying. I'm so sad, I was looking forward to getting a new lip balm.

I love this stuff! It is moisturizing with a slick not sticky feeling. I bought ruby then promptly went back and bought berry and pink nude.
Just what I wanted. 5

Put it on a couple of times a day. I love the stain that it leaves. Just wish I had picked a more neutral color instead of the berry. I typically choose neutral colors.

Great reddish with hot pinkness. It's goes on smooth. I fill in my lips with the color. Then I blot with a tissue. Perfect! Leaves a nice stain of color.
It's more like a lipstick than a lip balm 3

I picked Ruby (#22). It's super red. It's not moisturizing if you apply less to make it less red. I have to apply 3 - 4 layers to feel moisturized, and I look funny, which doesn't fit me for my everyday look. I won't buy this again.
NOT a balm 2

If you want a generic satin lipstick? You'll like this. If you want moisturizing, a more sheer tint, or even a lip balm feel? Skip this.
Super Pigmented 3

The color definitely pops when you apply. But since it's a balm and not lipstick you have to be careful when you apply otherwise you can end up with patchy lips. It does hydrate when you 1st apply but I noticed the darker the pigment of the Colorbalm the more my lips dry. Not sure if that's just me. To prevent that I just lightly apply on my lips which makes the color look more like a stain my lips which I prefer.
A new style for sure! 5

I love how Benefit Cosmetics it's on the edge of new things.
The colors are so bright and definitely is showing a new style, one I've never tried before, but I love it.
I tried Coral and I found it a bit dry, then I tried Peach pink and that one was very creamy.
Not moisturizing 3
Natalie R. from Round Rock, TX
I love the color and how it stays on. It felt moisturizing when I first put it on, but that went away quickly and I had to keep reapplying about once an hour. I was just drinking with a straw. I will be returning this.
Disappointed 3

I loved loved the original Benefit lip balms...like another reviewer I'm partial to balms - and have tried many. Benefit's were the best. The originals were super silky with great slip, more sheer yet still great pigment that didn't creep into the lines on the outer part of the mouth. Very hard to find. So when they were discontinued I was so bummed. With this new one I was excited to try...however like other mentioned it feels incredibly dry, very little slip. I don't mind the deeper pigment but if you could dab it a bit to mellow it out...however because it's so dry it's not easy to do. Going to return the one purchased... it gets 3 stars because the color choices are great and the pigment is doable if it has more slip to work with.
this is just lipstick… 3

The consistency is nice (and, imo, a little more balm-like than others are saying) but holy Mary mother of God are these intensely pigmented. I've bought actual sheer & shiny lipsticks with less color payoff. that being said, they feel decently hydrating, wear off gracefully, and leave a tasteful stain behind. they're a perfectly fine lip product…but they're not a tinted balm.
Fushcia is spot on for the benetint. Hate the holder 3
PAGirl from Georgia
Really like the color, smooth, and stays in place. Well done.
Only 3 stars bc the cap is too loose. I haven't tried it yet but think this will come apart in bag. Y'all really need to correct this.
This is a nit but bc the clear cap makes it look messy as you put in and out to use. :-(
Love It for Different Reasons 4
crtetley from Central New York
I wanted a tinted sheer lip balm that would work. As well as it works moisture wise, it's a lot more pigmented and looks more like a lipstick. It's buildable too, so more you put on, more color you get.
I'm Chinese so some colors work for my skin tone, others don't, however, I do love the colors I have (Berry, Nude Pink, Nude Rose).
Much like a balm, it's pretty moisturizing. Much like a lipstick, it's very pigmented. It is kiss proof after a while of wearing but not smudge proof.
I could give this product 5 stars if it was everything I was looking for, and as much as I love it, it's not the product I wanted it to be.
