Q
I have wanted a fan brush to use with highlighter for a long time, so I splurged on this brush for my brand new Becca Skin Perfector pressed highlighter. I can't get it to pick up the product, and it doesn't seem to show up on my face at all. I've even tested it by using it to swatch the highlighter on my arm, outdoors in the sun. Nothing. What am I doing wrong with this fan brush?
Asked by Copasetic
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi there! Thank you for your question. The Airbrush Radiance Fan Brush #116 is a loosely packed brush, which applies highlight very softly. If you are looking for more intense color payoff, we recommend using the Airbrush Blurring Concealer Brush #103, which is more densely packed. You can shop IT through the link below! At my salon, they use a fan brush to apply a mask, will this work for that or can you recommend another.
Asked by Inquiring mind
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi there, thanks for your question! We recommend using a flat paddle style foundation brush to apply a mask. Specifically we recommend our Airbrush Flawless Foundation Brush #104, which can be found on Ulta's website at the following link. This brush is perfect for applying a mask as it is the perfect shape and thickness to apply a mask with control. We hope this helps! I'm a fan

I use this brush on my It Cosmetics "Hello Light" Anti-Aging Powder Illuminizer. At first the effects were so subtle that I thought the brush was too light, but all day i noticed that my face had just the right amount of glow. So the ability to add more product is there and takes some effort, so if...

Not a fan of this fan brush

I was a little disappointed with this brush. Was looking for a good sturdy quality fan brush for contouring and couldn't find one. Saw this brush at Ulta and decided to take a chance on it even though the price was a little steep for my taste. Tried it and the first time worked wonders. However, ...

Useless Fan Brush not worth the money

Describe Yourself Light brown hair

The fan brush I received was pretty useless. It didn't hold any product so I couldn't even use it for highlighter.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Like other reviews state, this is not a dense brush.

This is a great brush for people that DON'T want an insane amount of highlighter. (IE, going to an event with flash photos, daytime, etc.) It's a brush that will give you that subtle lit from within look, without looking like you consulted IG and Youtube on the beamiest highlight out there.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I Adore It Brushes for Ulta

Describe Yourself New at makeup, Skin care obsessed, This is my first fan brush, not even kidding.

Verified Buyer

I'm skincare obsessed, but new to makeup. My latest endeavor has been teaching myself to highlight and contour. I have always been a huge fan of It Cosmetics until L'Oreal recently bought them out, and apparently a lot of their products are now being made in China, of way lesser quality ingredients, etc. However, I will always love It Brushes for Ulta. I don't know if THOSE are still made in the US, but I can confidently tell you they are still made to be high quality! I love, love, love how all It Brushes come with their own little protective case around the bristles that easily slides off to use it and keeps it clean and protected onece you're done using it. It actually kind of blows my mind that other brush companies have not started packaging their makeup brushes that way, too, because, frankly, I see no better way to keep your brushes nice and clean. I also am a huge fan of the It Brush Bath brush cleaner spray, which I use with all my makeup brushes, It brand or otherwise. I have to admit, I have not mastered the use of a fan brush yet, but hey... this brush is beatiful and I want to learn how to use it properly, ASAP!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Use it to brush away fallout

I use it to brush away eye shadow fallout and it works well. Very soft bristles. I haven't used it for any other makeup techniques but I'm sure I will eventually.
