Most Helpful Positive Review My favorite new hair product!
I really like how this product smells and it's works great on my type 4C and 4b Hair' I just got my second bottle!

I have naturally straight hair (yes I know it says curly hair but I usually prefer it because it more moisturizing), no hair dye, minimal heat max 2x's a year, no hair products. This has to be the worst ever. At first I thought my hair was just super oily but it was the extensive residue from it. It feels super rough & stuff. I went from washing my hair every other day to max every 4 days because it literally strips your hair. Unless you have your scalp pores sprouting natural oils every 2 seconds then you're fine other than that do not buy this. Not to mention my hair was falling since I began to wash with this. I have used other NYM products and non have done me dirty like this one.

I use all of my conditioners as deep conditioners, even if they're not labeled as such. I apply this very lovely smelling conditioner to my hair and apply heat with it (either my hair steamer or Hot Head Thermal Conditioning Cap) and deep condition for around 20-25 minutes. I get absolutely fabulous results. Using heat when you condition with any conditioner, allows for the product to penetrate a whole lot further into the hair shaft than without it, plus it maximizes the benefits of the conditioner in a much major way than without for sure. I have had nothing but a really great experience with this conditioner overall and no it doesn't weigh my fine textured waves down at all. And, yes, it does leave my hair frizz free and very manageable afterwards everytime I use it.

I had to apply so much of this to even start detangling my hair in the shower which has never been a problem for me before. My normally 3a curly hair dried into extremely dry waves even after applying leave-in and curl cream. Once I switched back to my old conditioner after the first wash there was an extremely noticeable difference in my curl pattern and my hair actually felt moisturized. For something that is suppose to be curl defining this conditioner did the exact opposite for me.

I love this conditioner! It's the only one I've been using for like 2 years now!! Smells amazing and makes my hair look great (I have wavy/curlyish) hair.
BEST CONDITIONER HANDS DOWN!!
NelNel from Miami, FL
Funny enough, I used this product because I showered at a friend's house and this was the only conditioner she had (she has straight hair but oh well) But listen, this stuff smells INCREDIBLE and leaves my curls soooooo soft, bouncy and healthy. I swear by this product!

Definitely one if the more affordable CGM conditioners. I do agree with comments wishing it detangled a bit more. As for the smell, I really find the aroma nice. I have a sensitive smell, so I'm not sure what the "stink" comments are. However, we all like different scents! This is one of my empties, and until I can afford $20+ conditioner (college girl on a budget y'all), this will remain one of my empties.
The only thing I've found that works!!

I have 1/2 straight, 1/2 wavy hair Uber dry, fine hair. It's been a struggle to find products that make it feel evenly hydrated and moisturized. This conditioner did the trick and then some! And it smells amazing!!!
Great but the bottle stinks
Kara from Pittsburgh, PA
I wish this product would detangle my hair more, I end up fighting the curls more than I'd like to.
The bottle really should'nt be a pump. It's hard to get out and at the end I have to really work to get the last bit of the conditioner. A lot of not your mothers products are pump bottles and they really shouldn't be.
Conditioner/leave in/Deep conditioner
Bee from Pennsylvania
Love this conditioner. When I don't have time to deep condition, I use this in the shower as my deep conditioner. Detangles amazing, leaves my hair soft and defined soon as I rinse it out. And it also smells delicious I leave a tiny bit in so the smell can linger on me all day so it's a 3 in 1 for me!
Can you say SLIP?!

I love this conditioner my paddle brush that I use it a tangle my hair glides through with so much ease! My hair feels hydrated and moisturized even after rinsing it out.
The best conditioner!

Bought it on one of my usual target visits and loved it! Leaves the hair extra smooth, shiny, defined and hydrated, has an amazing fragrance.
Moisture here I come
Jessachelle from Virginia
When I need some moisture in my waves and curls this is what I reach for. The scent is very nice but not overwhelming. The conditioner has amazing slip and is also light enough that my hair doesn't get weighed down. I can even use it as a leave in. Another amazing product from my favorite brand!

Let me tell y'all this is the holy grail for curlies!!!
My hair is up to my knees and this works soooo well!!! I love it sooo much!
My wavy go-to
Wavy Caro from Arlington, VA
Great conditioner! This is the first one I picked up when I started my "curly girl journey" again after becoming frustrated/overwhelmed about two years ago with CGM, and it remains my go-to. I like it a lot- lovely floral and fruity scent and it leaves my hair very well moisturized. There's probably a product that would work better for my long, very fine 2b/2c/3a curls, but it's inexpensive and reliable! My only qualm is that the pump doesn't disperse a ton of produce and because my hair is quite long, I need...maybe 8-10 pumps of it per use? A bottle lasts me about 5-6 weeks. Refer to my point about it being inexpensive :) lol. Nice slip and works well as what I think of as a "light" mask treatment where I keep it on while shaving for a little extra conditioning time and when I wash it out my hair is nice and soft and restored. No problems with scalp irritation or residue as some other folks are saying. Worth a try in my opinion for wavies and curlies (but maybe not conditioning enough for coily or kinky hair tho, idk)

My girls are black white and hispanic. My oldest has wavy/frizzy hair and my youngest has a thick curly frizzy mop! The shampoo and conditioner is amazing I could get the brush through without excess product! Love the pumps too!
Holy grail conditioner
Stellababella from Illinois
This conditioner smells amazing, is super moisturizing & really slips up so I can easily detangle my hair in the shower! I also have noticed my curls are more defined when I use it! I was skeptical as a lot of people say it's too heavy for their hair, but it doesn't weigh down my 2b/2c fine hair!
Riah from Ohio
Best conditioner to deranged my hair with so far! Smells good (to me anyways). Lots of slip! Lots light feeling but very moisturizing at the same time!
Smell makes me not want to use it
Jbravo from New York
I have a pretty good sense of smell, not super sensitive but good. So I love a product that either has no strong smell or at least a nice floral or fruity smell. THIS SMELLS LIKE STRONG TYLENOL COUGH SYRUP and mixed with apple cinnamon candles. It's so strong as soon as I pump it onto my hands it is like a spray of perfume. The good news is if that smell doesn't bother you THAT much- the majority does rinse away in the shower as you rinse the conditioner off but it's so much of a strong odor to me that I end up trying to breathe through my mouth. The conditioner wasn't my favorite for slip and the outcome wasn't anything spectacular for me to want to withstand the smell. My boyfriend with a poor sense of smell didn't notice the difference. So if you are like me and/or are kind of sensitive to strong smells. Girl don't do it. Definitely passing this to him.

I was a little skeptical of this product at first, but as I applied it to my daughter's freshly washed 4a/4b/4c hair I was shook. Her hair was soooo soft. Detangling was effortless and made it a breeze. Will definitely be trying more from the NOT YOUR MOTHERS line.
Ash from Michigan
Very nice conditioner. My hair was very soft and moisturized. My curls were pretty defined too. The only things I don't like or the strong scent and the fact that the pump broke before I even used it.
I would leave a zero star if I could
Ang from Orlando Fl
I have used this line before and absolutely love the coconut one. I decided to try this shampoo and conditioner and it left a disgusting thick residue In my hair. When it dried I could feel the residue and it felt stiff and almost like a thick oily feeling. I've never experienced that. I though maybe I put too much conditioner but tried several times again and my hair felt dirty. I have straight hair and will continue to use the coconut one jus not this specific one again.

The consistency is a little thin for what I was expecting
Not for curly hair
Mom of 3 from NM
This as well as the shampoo dries hair out really bad, does nothing for curls. This product actually made my daughter's skin peel on and around her ear as well as around her hair line. Does NOT moisturize hair well enough.
Too Rich for Wavies
Heidi from Alaska
Picked this up since I'm experimenting on my "curly girl journey". It's thick and rich and smells really good, but my waves have kind of flopped since picking it up, so it might be too heavy for Wavies. will keep it on hand for a deep conditioner/occasional mask, but hoping for better luck with their Curl Talk line that's in the mail.
Elle W from Michigan
I've used this product for a solid 6 months, and I need to try something else. I'm finding myself having to use a lot to work through my thick hair, and for me, the smell is overpowering. Like a flower bomb went off in my shower. After all this time, I really don't feel like it's hydrating my hair as I wish it would. It does provide a bit more curl definition, but isn't taming the frizz as much as I like.
