Most Helpful Positive Review MAC consultant suggested this color for me
I was suggested this color from a MAC consultant. I believe the lip color I was trying to match to a lipliner was Capricious also by MAC. I had tried out the Urban Decay selection and although I did find possible matches nothing compares to "Subculture". It is a super natural color. Think Shakira or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, girl next door sorta feel. I bought 2 and am in not form regretful!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Not what I expected
I just recently purchased this in dervish, I was excited because I've always had positive experiences with MAC lip liners in the past but this one was a dud. The pencil is very dry I can barely get any color on. It does not glide on at all like past lip liners from MAC - I'm not sure if I got a defective one but it's unusable

This can be used as a mate color on it's own or goes well with Rubi Woo

Great color and smooth lipliner

Cork is and always be the standard I hold my other brown liners to. It's golden and perfect and as a woman of color a great brown lip liner is key.
For those saying they're dry, I find that their reds and Pinks are super hot or miss. But the minimize the scratchy risk, I ALWAYS do ONE TURN IN MY SHARPENER before use. It keeps it sanitized and exposes the fresh product every time. And for those wondering about waste: it's legit just a shaving. Freshness of product that comes in contact with my lips supersedes me wanting to pinch pennies. A more budget friendly option are the Nyx Suede lipliners
I would buy it again. Is a pretty brown.

Used it to line my lips and added a moisturizer lipstick

I bought mine in the shade subculture as I wanted something very close to the natural shade of my lips. My pencil is kind of dry, like other complaints have mentioned. But once it's warmed up, I find it applies well and the color is pretty.
A Pretty Liner
Alyssa from Washington State
I'm actually not sure if it helps lipstick wear longer or adhere better (which I feel is usually the purpose of lipliner). It looks really good under my nude lipsticks though and blends really easily if I want to fade the liner into a color. It glides on super smooth, almost melting down to an oil texture as it touches my lips.
Very comfortable to wear, never dries my lips. The color is so pretty that I often just wear the liner by itself.
Cherry is great!

I bought the shade Cherry looking for a red liner that would work with most of my red lipsticks. This seems to be it! This particular shade goes on smooth with minimal effort, but is not so soft that it breaks. Somehow, it seems to be smudge proof as well! I attempted to rub it off to see and it didn't go anywhere.
However, I do understand what some people are saying about dryness. Another pencil in a coral shade I bought some time ago is that way and requires a lot of force to get a real line. I'm not sure what the deal is with the inconsistency :(
The color I've been looking for!
Katy from Orange County ca
I saw Laura beverlin use this on IG to make her lips look bigger, I didn't think the color would suit me since I have fair skin, but it's amazing!!! I feel like this is a color that would look good on everyone! I also paired it with Kylie's liquid lip in "Koko" and it's verry pretty!
Jasmine from Illinois
This lip pencil was very dry and harsh on my lips. It hurt to apply and felt like I was scraping myself. There was not much color pigmentation either, so it's not worth the price.
Penny from Delaware
I love the fact that it goes on smooth, full of moisture and it wears long.
i would not buy this product again

I feel like im ripping my lips off trying to use this liner
needs to be creamier so it glides on
Should of taken it back
Carol from Michigan
This pencil is very hard and dry. Thought Mac would be a good brand pencil. Almost hurts your lips to use it. Should of returned it.
Very natural lip liner
Khim from Indiana
Since I'm currently living lipstick free, I wanted a natural looking liner to still feel pulled together. This lip pencil provides exactly that.
I love my Mac lip pencils

I have used Mac pencils for years after trying many brands. Lots of color choices and long lasting.

I'm all about a low end dupe but with lip liners, Mac lip liners are so different in consistency and quality! I will splurge for these and just tip them with my lower end dupes lol
I have olive skin, light berry colored lips. This particular color is a little too light.
Favorite Neutral Lip Liner

It's just creamy enough and long lasting. This is my second one to purchase...
Really like this color!
Jimminicrkt from McKinney, TC
Bought this lip liner in both Plum and Soar. I've only tried out Plum so far, but it's easily going to become my new fave! I really like how smoothly it goes on, no tugging (even on super dry lips), and the staying power was great!
