Who is Charlotte Tilbury?
A muse. A legend. An icon. Charlotte Tilbury is a world-renowned makeup artist and the Chairman, President, Chief Creative Officer and Founder of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty. For over 30 years she’s created looks on celebrities and top models for red carpets, runways (up to 40 shows a season!) and editorial shoots. She believes in “the magic of confidence” and that if you “give everyone the right makeup, they can conquer the world.” And we couldn’t agree more.
Charlotte was born in London and raised in Ibiza. She grew up surrounded by artists, musicians, actors and writers. With her father, Lance, a painter and mother, Patsy, a fashion producer, she always knew she would pursue a creative career.
There were two key moments that really inspired her decision to work in beauty. The first was meeting legendary makeup artist Mary Greenwell when Charlotte was 11 years old. The second was discovering the power of makeup after she started wearing mascara at age 13. “I instantly felt confident and empowered. I was walking a path toward makeup artistry.”
The rest is history.
