Most Helpful Positive Review Very Pleased with this Foundation
I don't wear makeup enough to buy prestige brands. I literally just looked into my makeup bag the other day and most of my stuff I've had for years. So I had to throw it out. I have a wedding to attend next weekend and I needed to do something. So I did a little searching on the Ulta website and found this foundation. I went in store and asked a representative to help me pick out a shade that worked for me. I ended up getting Vanilla. Honest to God I have never had a foundation that truly matched my skin tone as well as this one did. I have read several of the reviews for this product (knowing there isn't many due to it just launching this week) but I see some say it doesn't cover well, that it applies dry, can still see pores, etc. I have oily to dry skin depending on the area. So I planned ahead in getting the NYX Angel Veil face primer and Ulta brand of Hydrating face primer just to try them. I used the hydrating face primer then applied the foundation with a dampened foundation brush. It went on very smooth and covered well. Doesn't feel cakey or dry. Then I applied NYX concealer for my under eyes and blended the foundation into it (which blended well together). I then added NYX HD finishing powder (banana). The powder is very light and works great as a finishing powder. Don't be worried about the color of the banana powder as it blends very well over the foundation. I then used Ulta's Baked bronzer to touch up in needed areas. This make up matches my natural skin tone so well you can barely tell I'm wearing it that's how flawless my look was. I'm very pleased with these NYX and Ulta products. I went into the store today and realized that all NYX products were BOGO 50% off so I just went ahead and got a whole new makeup kit without breaking the bank. I will continue to purchase these products and do highly recommend. I do suggest however that if you aren't familiar with the shades go ahead and ask a representative to help you. You will be glad you did.

Ok so....I WANTED to like this foundation. I tried multiple times to make it work and baby I just canNOT. Ok the pros are: Of course the price point is great, I feel like it can be full coverage if you have the arm strength to apply a couple of layers, it has good pigmentation, and it's surprisingly lightweight. Like so light it feels like you're wearing nothing. That is until *cue the necessary dramatics* CONS: This foundation dries down SO matte/desert dry that it makes your skin feel tight and ashy by the time you're finished beating the rest of your face. Stay away from this if you have a dry skin type or be prepared to use a really good dewy primer and setting spray. Like....throughout the day. You're going to need a refreshing mist every few hours. Also this foundation dries down super fast. So fast that it doesn't allow you to blend it out all the way which of course leaves patches, streaks, dots, depending on how you apply. You gotta work FAST. Section by section. Don't put it all over your face and let it sit while you work with one area. Please don't. Another thing....the shades....oh girl. Ok I appreciate the fact that there are hella shades to choose from, but they're kinda weird FOR ME. My skin tone is funny already and trying to find my exact shade has been a headache. Either one is too light, too dark, or too ashy and there is no in between for me. I even tried mixing shades. Nope. Last, but not least....you cannot use certain products/formulas with this foundation. Like cream(contour, highlight, etc.). It WILL NOT allow you to blend it out. It will cling to the foundation creating patches so don't try it. I find powders work best. Liquid can work also IF you work fast enough. Again, blend it out in sections only. Don't let it sit. Oh, and don't bake. Apply and dust it right off after you've applied your powder everywhere you need to(60 seconds tops). All in all....for me....worst foundation I have EVER used. I still love NYX tho. Hey girl 💕

i tested my shade on the app and it told me to get soft beige. so i did! when you initially put it on, it looked SO orange but once it sat for a few on my skin it matched perfect. i've never had a foundation do that before. but it's such a good foundation!! i have extremely dry skin. so i use a hydrating primer under, then this, and it's PERFECT.
This is great!!

I am still shocked about how great this foundation is! I have combination oily skin and wanted to try something from NYX. Honestly, some NYX products are hit and miss for me. I gave this a try and I loved it!
I do like this foundation. It's my first time purchasing.
Luvmakeup from Atlanta, GA
It has medium to heavy coverage depending on your preference. Color match for me was good.
I have dry skin during winter time and it hasn't left a dry feeling.

I've been using this foundation for a few years now. I think I finally found the right shade for me after trying a few different ones. I like the coverage, but the only issue i've had with it is that it really clings onto dry/flaky skin and can be noticeable.
Perfect for Oily Skin
Tam from Atlanta, GA
My skin is extremely oily in this phase of my life. This formulation keeps my acne all the way in check as it minimize sebum production. I wet my sponge and work one section at a time. It's buildable for fuller coverage too.
Good coverage but looks dry.
Katelyn from Maryland
I first put it on with a brush than I go back over it with a sponge to really make sure everything is blended. The first time I put it on it looked good but today I don't know what happened my forehead looked weird then my skin looked so dry. I ended up putting some ColourPop foundation on to help it not look so dry (it worked). I'm going to return it.
NOT SURE HOW I FEEL
Amari from Atlanta
This didn't cover any of my dark spots on my face so i was disappointed but it wasn't overall bad. Just not better than what I've been using. I would get maybeline over this one. Way more coverage because this wasn't full coverage for me. I might be returning it.
A bit yellow
Zyra from New Jersey
Great product and coverage however appears a little yellow, would recommend tho!
OK Formula, Terrible Packaging
Missy from Pennsylvania
I'm still on the hunt for THE foundation. After switching from the KVD Lock-It foundation (since it was getting too heavy for me), I thought I would give this a try. The formula is fine and what I look for; medium to full, buildable coverage, layered nicely, lightweight and a decent shade. However, the packaging sucks! After each time I had to clean the opening pump with a toothpick otherwise it would get clogged, but eventually the pump was so crusted over/jammed that I couldn't pump anything out of it anymore. Thankfully, I was able to pop open the top portion with a screw driver and still use the product, but because of the pain-in-the-butt packaging I won't be buying this again. I still think the foundation is OK and will finish my current bottle.
Not the best
bailey from Tulsa
I thought this was very cakey and balled up quick. It was very disappointing for nyx.
Maggy from Phoenix, Arizona
Not too cakey not too thin just right!!
Dee from Corpus Christi
This foundation will dry out your skin tremendously. My skin looks ashy when I apply the product. NYX drop foundation is so much better. Also, it gives off an uneven skin tone.
Rachael from Virginia
This product does give good coverage, but it immediately settled right into my pores and any fine lines. It looked way too cakey on me. Even with a primer and setting spray, a lot had come off by the end of the day. It could just be me, because unfortunately I have very large pores, and I will try it again with different primers because I hate to waste a full bottle of foundation, but unfortunately I don't think this is the product for me and will not repurchase.
The worst foundation I have ever used
Jp from Phoenix
Literally the WORST foundation I have ever used. I have oily skin and this is SOOOO drying. It does not go on smoothly which causes these weird dry patches and makes it look like you missed a bunch of areas. It makes your face so dry. Like SO dry to the point that even when I take my makeup off my skin is flaking so bad I'll have to skip my retinol. So by the end of the day I literally have this foundation peeling off my face. I will never repurchase
Lily from OR
Breaks apart at the first sight of oil. I ended up tossing it after a week of trying to make it work.
Cheryl from Easton, MD
I have cutaneous lupus and my skin is always blotchy, red and spotty. I tried this in hopes it would provide good coverage and it exceeded my expectations!
momontherush from florida
I flocked over to this product just because Mac was so expensive, however, i hate this foundation. It makes my face look dry, ashy, cakey, just so ugly. My skin looks so much better without this foundation. Flocking over to this foundation was not the best decision. Seriously the works foundation
NOT for dry skin, this foundation requires soooo much primer
Maggie from Corona, CA
this product dries up in the pump, i have to use a needle to clear it out every time, after my third use i threw it away. was so bummed because the concealer is amazing, but i have dry skin, its just not for me at all. the coverage is actually pretty good and it is long wear but it shows so much texture on the skin
Heaven from Canton
I just bought it today, and this is the first time I got a perfect color match 😁 I picked up vanilla and it's perfect im so happy with how the foundation sets and applies, if you have oily skin I recommend, I used a facial mist as a primer and it looks like skin not like I have foundation on.
tangerine from California
Thicker coverage than NYX's total control drop foundation. Covers well, I find that applying with wet sponge and tapping into skin works best with this. Also less is more! Start out with little product because it is so thick, and build from there. Also helps if you apply with dry skin (no facial oils naturally or in your skin care routine before using) because it can curdle in the beginning. For the price it isn't that bad.
Ang from Whittier
Inexpensive & does the job!
Worst foundation ever
Bubba from Aberdeen sd
Okay okay this looks a lot better on people with deep tones I am very porcelain and I'm a bit on the dry side it just looks terrible
Wanted to love it.
Tam from CA
I had higher expectations for this product. It didn't execute what it promised. It didn't last all day for me and oxidized fairly quickly. Not recommended for all day wear - even with setting spray. Blends blotchy, and is on the thicker side of liquid makeup. Not good for textured or dry skin.
Macy from Louisiana
Not full coverage and don't last all day.
