My favorite scent ever - semi-adaptive

I've been wearing this for YEARS! Like when it was half the price and sold in grocery store checkout stores. I've read some reviews about it either having 'no smell' or the smell going away after a while. Just wanna provide some insight/education about this so you babes know what to expect. This is ...going to be a very rudimentary explanation in the most basic terms - but going to attempt a basic explanation below: First of all - this smells amazing! It will melt into your skin! It's creamy, and really allows your own body to make it your own. It will still smell generally the same on everyone - but it will react to your own hormones as well. On a friend of mine, I can tell she's wearing this but it smells more like it does straight from the bottle, versus on me, it smells more warm. Another friend of mine turned it a little more musky. Now let's chat about how long the scent lasts: We ourselves are a poor source to determine if we can still smell a scent or not, especially when it's natural/clean. All of the senses in our body (sight, touch, hearing, etc.) are connected to our fight-or-flight response- Your sense of smell is no exception. Think of walking into someone's house- it has its own smell unique to them. Your grandparent's house or a neighbor's house has a unique smell - but you probably can't smell your own house unless you're away from it for a few days. The reason why is that your nose has determined a baseline of normal - of safe - and doesn't need to alert you to scent that your body/brain/nervous system has already determined not to be a threat. But if you think about your own home, while you can't likely smell your "house smell", you can probably still smell strong chemicals like cleaning products when you clean the bathrooms or when you mop your floors or even a new candle; you can smell food cooking like garlic or meats and can smell them waft through rooms of the house; you can probably smell when something smells BAD too - (like someone doing #2 in the bathroom or food that has gone bad). The reason you can smell these bad smells and not your typical normal house smell is your body is alerting you to something that is not normal, and your senses are heightened. In the most basic sense, your body alerts you bc the baseline has been violated and your brain and other senses need to determine if you are threatened, in danger, etc. Now back to this particular perfume - this scent and special makeup will melt into your skin, and is semi-adaptive to your particular makeup (via hormones, etc.). I don't know what it is about this perfume, but bc this is adaptive to you, your body will either quickly (especially if you typically wear a warm/creamy/natural scent/lotion/etc) or eventually (if you aren't typically wearing these under and overtones) determine this scent not to be a threat, and your nose will start to ignore it. The smell is still there- but you've essentially become "nose blind" to the scent. If you buy this perfume and can't smell it anymore - whether it's when you first put it on or after a few hours - ask someone else if they can smell it. I would try and seek someone like a co-worker, a friend you don't see every day, etc. Someone who sits next to you or shares a space/home/bed with you, etc, will eventually be in the same boat you are when it comes to being able to smell this, and won't be a reliable source. If you want to learn more about this just look up 'nose-blindness' and you'll see examples and studies on the phenomena. Almost everyone is affected by this at some point in their life. I can assure you this scent is long-lasting, and really just enhances your natural scent. I notice sometimes I can smell this all day, and other times I can't even smell it out of the bottle. But again, whether or not I can smell it - other people can- and it smells like me. Hope this helps- cheers babes!
