Most Helpful Positive Review Clean & Beautiful Skin! I have been using the Micellar wipes since they first came out and love them. When I saw this new product decided to give it a try. Since I have dry skin I purchased the purple one (which is for combo/dry skin). To use it place a small amount (size of a quarter) in your palm and rub between hands. Apply to your dry face and gently swirl all over. Then either rinse off or use a tissue. It works well to remove makeup and leaves your face soft. However, I do wear a lot of makeup (primer, foundation, blush, bronzer, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara) and it did not remove my mascara. I still had to use the (purple) Take the Day Off to get both the mascara and eye liner completely removed. I also found that the Clarifying Lotion (#2) picked up much more makeup on the cotton pad then it does when I used the wipes to remove my makeup. Although I like the product the wipes work much better at removing all your makeup.
Most Helpful Critical Review Still irritating Since the eye makeup remover lotion was reformulated a very long time ago, I stopped being able to use it.The new ( early 2000's)version burned my eyes, so did Cetaphil cleanser, so you understand how sensitive I am! At that time, I had been using the Comforting Cream Cleanser to take off my face makeup. I then realized that it also made an amazing eye makeup remover, even better than the lotion specifically for eyes, and Cetaphil, because it lifted off waterproof mascara and everything else when just massaged into the eyes and then removed with a wet cotton ball, and the face was tissued off and then gone over with the Mild Clarifying Lotion (only one that was alcohol free and tolerated by my skin, and also discontinued for quite awhile!!). So when I saw this released, I was sure that it was finally the replacement for the long gone Comforting Cream Cleanser. I bought it immediately! Even in the extra mild version, it burned my eyes and didn't remove makeup nearly as well as my old favorite! I know that I am unusually sensitive, but there must be products on the market, especially by Clinique, which was my mother's go to brand, and I was introduced to it when there were virtually no other fragrance free products on the market! News of a bonus week was like a holiday for me! Today there are many FF and "clean" products available across all price categories. However, I still have not been able to find a cream cleanser that removes all makeup without causing irritation or a greasy residue in my eyes (Take the Day Off Balm, I am talking to you!). If anyone knows of any dupes for the Cleanser or Mild Clarifying Lotion, Clinique reps or fellow consumers, the info would be greatly appreciated.

I like this cleanser, but not enough to offset my frustration trying to dispense from this bottle. I think they could repackage it and then I'd recommend it more. Also, I think I prefer the cleansing oil to remove any trace of make-up.
Not a fan. 1

I wanted to love this product, but I didn't. It was very irritating to my eyes and made them burn. It did remove my black eyeliner and mascara more quickly than a micellar water, but it's not worth it due to the eye irritation.
Perfect! 5

Been using this for a while and for the first time and I like how gently it is on my skin. I am 40yo and I don't have any blemishes or decolorations or even super sensitive skin but I am starting with my fine lines and want to be gentle on my skin. This one surely doesn't perfectly remove my mascaras but it loosens them well enough and then I use the Take the day off eye makeup remover to completely remove my mascaras. I read complainings about this cleanser not cleaning well enough but you are not supposed to feel siper clean if it is intended for dry skin.. if people need a more harsh cleanser then they should use one for normal
skin. I will buy this one again and again. Also, I always follow with a cotton ball with toner to removed any trace of foundation that is left on my face and this has always been the case even while using other cleansers.

Perfect 5

I am almost 41yo and my skin is pretty good. Nevertheless, I have tried many different cleansers and this one is the best one so far. Like I said my skin doesn't require too much. I don't suffer from acne or have blemishes hence why I need something mild and not too harsh.I found that many of the cleansers I tried before left my skin dry. The creamy texture of this one is perfect! I wipe it off with a warm washcloth and follow with toner. I bought it over the black Friday week so I got a 30% discount and I got the cleaner and the Take the Day Off makeup remover on sale.
Works great for eye makeup 4
Tdocs from Baltimore
I'm only using this as an eye makeup remover, but it works great taking off everything - even waterproof mascara. I took one point of because it says that it's for contact lens wearers, but I wouldn't use this on my eyes with contacts in. You don't want to get this in your eyes.
Does not clean skin 1

This product does not in any way remove dirt and oil from your face. It's apparent when I use a cotton ball with my toner. I wouldn't recommend
Not nearly as good as the Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk 2
laj803 from SC
I wish Clinique would stop changing and discontinuing products and formulas!!!! This new cleanser is not nearly as good as the Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk. It's not as hydrating and does not remove the make up as well. Someone as Ulta tried to discourage me from getting hooked on Clinique because they always change and/or discontinue their products. So disappointed! Please bring back the Take the Day off Cleansing Milk!!!!!!!!! They also changed the formula on their Naturally Gentle Make up Remover as well. I left a review on this earlier; however, Clinique would not let me leave another one! On to find a new product from possibly a new company. I had not bought Clinique products for many years, but then my friend who sells Clinique got me started on the Moisture Surge and Beyond Perfecting make-up and I ventured out into other products. However, most of them have been discontinued after a short period of time or either they changed the formulations on them and they are not nearly as good as they used to be.
Not what I thought 1
MaryR from Jacksonville, Fl
I had hopes this product would work well but it just doesn't cut it for me. I don't wear a lot of makeup and the mascara I use isn't waterproof. This product not only stings my skin, especially the eye area but isn't getting the makeup off even with several applications. I hate to be critical especially since I have used Clinique for over 40 years. This is actually the first time I've left review and am sorry it's not positive.
Not good at all 1
Heather from NC
Clinique has many great products, but this is not it. This product does not remove makeup let alone clean the skin. After messaging this product in and rinsing it off, there is still a lot of makeup left on my face. It leaves my skin feeling oily which is the exact opposite of how I want it to feel being that I have oily combo skin. This product just does not work. I will go back to using the take the day off balm, that I love, along with my cleanser. All in one sounded great but this product just did not deliver.
Would NOT recommend 1
The Esti from Brentwood, CA
If all your makeup includes is cheap mascara and brows then yeah this is okay. BUT if you are a cakey makeup person like myself DONT get this, waste of money. You have to use so much product to even attempt to get SOME foundation off. It's horrible don't get this.
Great Makeup Remover for Dry Skin! 5
Mediterranean Maven from Miami, Florida
I have extremely dry skin, the kind that requires heavy duty gentle care like Pond's Cold Cream to remove makeup and cleanse skin. This means that I can't use anything on my face that is soapy, sudsy òr foamy. If this is you, then this type of product is for you. This is a creamy, lotion type product that you apply a quarter size amount with dry hands on a dry face all over including eyelids. I gently massage the product onto my face and then I use a wet esthetic wipe to remove the product from face while rinsing the wipe as I go. I then follow up with another light wash of a lotion cleanser such as Clinique Liquid Facial Cleanser Extra Mild. My skin is left clean, soft, soothed and dry or taut. I find that this removed all of my makeup, including eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick, etc., without irritation, redness or itching. Highly recommend and I plan to repurchase when my I use up this bottle.
It's really good 5

My friend recommended this product to me. I used it one time. It's really good. It's easy to remover my makeup and my skin is soft and clean after washing face with it. I like it.
Bad really bad. 1

This product is bad, I mean really bad, doesn't remove makeup at all and it is sticky, greasy..... doesn't feel good on your skin.
It's decent. 3

Well. I've used this 3 times. It seems as if this burns a little bit but it goes away shortly afterwards. This formula is thick. It feels like it leaves a film behind. I don't mind that too much. I like the squeezy container. I will probably use this up and go for another cleanser. I don't see myself repurchasing. For reference I'm a 45 year old female. Medium neutral skintone. Dry, sensitive, and mild rosacea skin.
Already in love! 5
LadyTuesday from Western NY state
I've only been using this for four days now and I'm already obsessed with it! I use it at night in lieu of the liquid facial soap - I had been looking for quite a while for something like this - and after only one usage and less than 24 hours, I could already feel that my skin felt softer, cleaner, and that a stubborn patch of bumps/rough skin that I'd been fighting for months was starting to clear up. So amazed! I personally wipe it across dry skin with a cotton pad and then splash off with water, but it didn't feel heavy/tacky like other supposedly non-rinse micellar products I've used, so I can imagine that in the colder months I might not bother rinsing at all. So far, I'm so happy with this one!
Gentle Cleanser - Works Great! 5
KEG56 from PA
I was looking for a cleanser that was free of SLS and so happy Clinique finally came out with one. Once in a while my perioral dermatitis flares up around my chin and it is VERY stubborn and hard to get rid of. It looks like acne but it burns and peels...it's terrible. Usually I have to go to a dermatologist and take antibiotics to make the dermatitis go away. I started using this gentle cleanser about a week ago and so far I haven't had any flare-ups and my dermatitis looks like it may be healing. I really love how soft this cleanser makes my skin feel after washing. This will definitely be my go to cleanser from now on!
It's a great cleanser! 5
Heather from Texas
So I want to start off with a caveat...this is a great cleanser, but not so much a makeup remover. I absolutely love using this as my first cleanse on no makeup days, and as my only cleanser in the mornings. I have genuinely dry skin, and if you don't also have dry skin, this may feel heavy for you. For me though? It's refreshing and moisturizing without stripping my skin or irritating my eyes. It's enough to get the residue from the oils I use on my face at night, I really enjoy it.
Now as a makeup remover? It has trouble with mascara, so I still prefer to use an oil for that. I can't use an oil everyday though because of my eyes, so I love this for days when I don't wear makeup, which is almost everyday. It's also more hygienic because of the squirt bottle. I seriously enjoy it!
Clean & Beautiful Skin! 5
Clinique Girl NY from New York
It's moisturizing 3
Cebaker07 from Philadelphia
I never used Clinique's previous milk cleanser product, but this is very thick. You need to wipe it with a tissue or cotton round, and follow it with a toner. It will not get your makeup off on its own, but it does leave the skin feeling very moisturized. I don't think I'd repurchase, but it's ok. I don't find the packaging design to be the best, though I love it's recycled. The product is too thick to come out in regular amounts and you have to squeeze it hard. I have trouble gripping, so I do struggle with this. Perhaps a jar would be better.
Great and easy all in one cleanser 5
Elizabeth in MN from St Paul MN
Really like this especially when I really a simple morning or bedtime routine. Just a little cleans my whole face and neck. Comes off clean and easily worn a damp washcloth. Leaves my skin clean and soft. Does not strip out my natural moisture. My skin is dry combination, but overproduces oil is it is too stripped of moisture. And doesn't bother my eyes AT ALL, and my eyes are super sensative.
Sits on top of skin; Will be returning 2
Sad Shelby from Missouri (MO)
I purchased this after the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk was discontinued, hoping it would be a suitable replacement. I've used it three times now, and I don't think there will be a fourth. The product is really thick and creamy, and spreads easily on skin, but does not lather, nor does it feel like it is actually sinking in and cleansing skin. It just sits on top of the skin. No matter how much I rinse/remove the cleanser, it still feels like it's sitting on top of my skin, and it seems to be blocking my moisturizer from sinking into my skin. It leaves my skin feeling almost suffocated, since it is so thick and never seems to come off. After using, my skin does not feel particularly cleansed, nor does it feel refreshed.
Sadly disappointed with this product. The hunt for a new cleanser begins again!
Waaayyy better than makeup remover wipes! 5

This does a terrific job at removing my makeup! I massage it into my face and wipe it off with tissue. Followed by my regular face wash. My clarisonic doesn't show any traces of makeup after using this and my skin feels nice, not dried out.
BAD 3

my mom got this for me and its sooooo bad it stings and irritated my face to not even remove any makeup and I used it with my wash cloth and its stained it even after being washed
