Most Helpful Positive Review First step in a double cleanse I used to rub my face with makeup remover wipes— please don't do that to yourself— until I started noticing fine lines around my mouth and eyes. I started learning from a dermatologist that you really shouldn't use makeup wipes at all. So I decided to try this cleansing balm I saw Trixie Mattel use on her YouTube channel. Omg you guys this works so amazing! It doesn't bother my eyes at all and I am very sensitive. I wet my face with a water mister and then apply a small amount of the balm to my face with circular motions. I work to break up all the makeup and sunscreen I've worn for the day. Then I rinse my face and neck with warm water until it feels decently clean. Then I wash my face and neck again with CeraVe SA cleanser. Don't skip out on double cleansing or else you will definitely break out. This stuff wasn't meant to stay on your skin, it's only meant to breakup the makeup. After I'm done washing I put on CeraVe moisture cream from the tub. My skin has never looked better. I don't have makeup residue leftover with this routine. I will have to purchase the full size when this one runs out.
Most Helpful Critical Review Too uncomfortable to use... am I doing it wrong? I have a roommate who loves this stuff and uses it every day for her mascara and winged liner, so I thought I'd buy a trial size and give it a go. I assumed based on all of the reviews that it would take my eye makeup RIGHT off, would not be uncomfortable for my eyes, and it would not take a lot of product per use. Well... none of those were true for me, which makes me seriously wonder if I'm somehow doing it wrong. I've used it about five times now to remove my eye makeup (which doesn't include waterproof products, just the regular stuff). Each time requires about a thumbnail's "chunk" of product for EACH eye. I know that the full size product is far larger and that is a relatively little amount for that size, but I guess I expected to need one chunk total rather than per eye. The application of it feels time consuming as well; it takes the better part of 60 seconds before I can tell that my lashes are free of mascara. My standard micellar-water-on-makeup-wipes doesn't take as long, especially since this balm has to be wiped or rinsed off as well. Finally, in every use of it so far, it get in my eyes. It seems like it's almost necessary for it to get in your eyes: I can tell that my lashes still have mascara on UNLESS I sliiiightly open my eye to massage the product in from underneath my lash line. (If I don't, it doesn't get fully removed.) The sensation of having this balm in my eye is too uncomfortable for me to ignore. It's true that it doesn't STING the eyes, but it definitely is noticeable and whenever I can tell it's in my eye I immediately want to wash it off. It makes me wonder how my roommate and beauty youtubers can tolerate using it with their eyes open. And even on days when I was determined to avoid getting it in my eyes, by keeping my eyes shut tight and ignoring the mascara at the roots of my lash line, it still would.
I've been wearing mascara and eye contacts for years and am used to having things in and near my eyes, but this just isn't for me.

I have tried many so called " cleansers" that do not take any of your makeup off, they just smear it around, this takes my makeup off while leaving skin soft not tight , love it

Gross and messy 3
Sarah from OH
I received this as a gift so I figured I'd try it out. The balm melts in your hand then the whole process is gross rubbing oil smearing it all over your dry face. Then you have your lip color and eye makeup color all over your hands and face too. For me this process is too time consuming trying to rinse off the makeup, and I still need to either use a wipe or makeup eraser towel to get all my heavy duty stuff off.
Overall I will not purchase this item. I'll just use Neutrogena wipes or the makeup eraser towel or both to remove the makeup and leave this pricy step one process out.
amazing and works great 5

This is the only makeup remover I have used that gets the job done! Most others still leave some makeup on my skin but not this one!
A Little Does a Lot 4

I bought this product to test out it out because I was looking for new makeup remover and Clinique is my go-to for all things skin. It removed all my eye makeup and foundation easily and without irritation, using only a bit of product. I think it works better than other balm removers simply because the container will last longer.
I'm still trying out other products, but will probably return to purchase the full size, just wish it wasn't so expensive (but I get it, it's Clinique).
Works great, and no mess 4

I normally use an oil based eye makeup remover that needs to be shaken up each time. This was just as effective for the most part. The only place it didn't perform as well was being able to let it sit and loosen mascara before wiping off. I normally let my remover sit on my lashes (on a cotton pad) for a few seconds to help loosen it up and prevent pulling or rought wiping. Letting this sit didn't really make it change how well it worked. I do like that it doesn't dry me out or leave an oily residue, but I'll probably go back to my other formula as I like wearing mascara.
Sensitive Eyes BEWARE! 3
Lexi from Scottsdale, AZ
I bought this product after getting a swollen eye from a different brand of makeup removing balm. After using this, I woke up 2 days later and my eye is extremely swollen, red, and itchy/dry. It's worked well for a lot of people, but if you're someone with sensitive eyes, I wouldn't recommend. I think the oil ended up clogging a pore or maybe my tear duct. It worked amazingly on my skin though. Don't think it was the product, I think balm just doesn't work for my eyes.
Didn't like for removal of Mascara 3

I use a small amount on my hands, and it's enough for the whole face. It's very gentle on your eyes. It is kinda waxy but washes off easily.
Just didn't remove as expected 3

I first tried Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm. Ran out and decided to sample Clinique because it also had good reviews. The Clinique just doesn't remove the make up around my eyes as well. I double cleanse and when done with night time regime all makeup seems to be removed, yet when using the Clinique I wake up with mascara under my eyes. That doesn't happen with the Farmacy. Glad Clinique offers the mini size to try. Just didn't work as well for me.

Not sure how sanitary it is to continue sticking your fingers in the same container. Oily feeling - wipes much preferred over this product.

This is the best product I have ever used when it comes to taking off my eye makeup. Its non greasy so it doesn't make my eyes feel wierd and filmy when I rinse it off.
