Hi again! So I've already reviewed this product but thought I'd go back after having it for a little while -- I am absolutely in love with the color and scent (as well as the adorable packaging ahhhh) of this product!! It smells deliciously like watermelon, but unfortunately doesn't taste like it -- in fact, the taste is rather unappetizing. However, the color is so lovely, a perfect, soft and beautiful pink that appears immediately !!! and stays on like a stain even when the balm disappears. Oddly, I found that this balm doesn't moisturize your lips like a regular balm would, leaving them feeling dry and oddly textured instead. If used in correlation with another lip balm, however, it didn't dry out my lips, it was actually lovely -- the product just doesn't work as a lip balm should. Overall, I still love this! It's so beautiful and fun to bring around and show people, and the way it's different on everyone's lips is so cool. When it runs out though, I think I might try another one of the balms to see the difference. I'd still recommend it, just be aware! <3
So I impulsively bought this right when it launched on the winky lux website about 2-3(?) years ago. It smelled delightful when I got it but after several months of use it started to turn. I think the scent doesn't last as long as the actual formula...so if you're buying one that has been sitting in a warehouse for 4+ months after being made (which I'd imagine most things are) this probably isn't going to smell the freshest :( maybe that's why all of these reviews are what they are...just a theory!
As for my experience, this is one of those classic "ph activated" lip balms that just turns everyone's lip the same shade of bright pink. If that color won't look good on your skin tone, don't buy this. Fortunately the color worked for me but every time I wore it my lips would be sooo painfully dry the next day, no matter what I tried to do to prevent it :( (lip balm before, after, didn't matter!) like worse than the worst matte liquid lip. I had to toss it because it wasn't worth the stinging. Also worth noting: it keeps its shape but turns kind of gross in the heat...lol it gets to be in the high 70s in my house during the summer and that was enough to change its consistency :(
I walked to my car and tried this on after impulsively purchasing the super cute watermelon jelly in line at ultra. The color was sweet and the scent was also nice. I started walking back in to grab one for a friend and licked my lips. It tasted like chemicals so I wiped it off of course. The stain remains, but it does seem to have an almost immediate drying factor. I obviously didn't buy this for my friend, and will likely be returning this lipstick. It's scary how much it tastes like it's full of chemicals…
The color is to pink
I didn't like how it felt on my lips. It was very drying and it tasted awful.
perfect and I love it! my daughter picked this out and I ended up loving this product.
Honestly, I would've given it 4/5 stars if it weren't for the bad taste that it gives. I loved it until it somehow got into my mouth. It tastes horrible and takes a while for the taste to go away. I felt sick after that too, and lasted for a few hours. My doctor thankfully said I should be good after some medicine, but wow. Can't believe that little thing did that. It smells and looks great but I can't wear it anymore.
