These nail files are okay, but they don't last long at all. I got maybe a couple uses out of it before it lost its grit. In general though, it's not coarse enough for my nails. I like that this emery board is durable and not flimsy. My fingernails have a tendency to fray and this file helps prevent that while other files have contributed to the fraying of my nails.

I don't know if I just grabbed the wrong type of nail file but I have to use this multiple times just to get my nails the shape I want them. But it does get the job done.
