Neatly section the hair with the long thing handle of the brush, creating partings where you want to create volume.
For super-size volume, tease each section right down to the root of the hair, moving the comb up the section 2 or three times.
Once the hair is teased, smooth over any fly-aways with the tips of the longer teeth.

I was so excited to use this brush because I have no volume and it was just what I needed. I was expecting it to volumize my hair but unfortunately all it did was tangle up my hair. It might be because my hair is rough and damaged and this might work well on others but sadly it did not work for me. I just use this to brush my hair and it works great like that!

I have very thick wavy hair and finding a right hair brush is kind of hard I always have to go with a thicker bristles. which sometimes can be a pain in the butt since most of the thicker bristles hurt my scalp. I find that the detangler is so functional with my hair type. I have one specific brush that I used to detangle my hair and this is one that will for sure be added to my top two go to items to detangle my hair.
Great comb for sensistive scalps

Even though this is called the Tangle Teezer its great for sensitive scalps. I bought one for myself and love it, I massage my scalp with it. I have 4 young grand daughters with sensitive scalps. I used this comb on the 4 year old with fine textured hair who seems to have the most sensitive headand it worked great.
Great for thick, coarse hair
I have thick, coarse South Asian hair. This is the best teasing brush I have used, to date. I have a bunch of others including the Drybar Texas Tease brush, but nothing compares to this one. I am able to get a ton of volume (think Brigitte Bardot) in just a few minutes. I only do the back of the head, and that is more than enough to make sure my hair doesnt look flat. Highly recommend.
