Most Helpful Positive Review DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!! GREAT PRODUCT!! When our dog chewed up the cord to my Babyliss flat iron I was pretty upset! I recently got turned onto Dry Bar products after a visit to a salon in Las Vegas so I decided to bring another bright yellow product into my bathroom. Since Dry Bar actually uses these same products in their salon, I feel like they are well made and designed smart. If you have a business of styling hair day in and day out you figure out quick what works and what doesn't.
This flat iron does a better job then my Babyliss did!! My hair is thick and course with what I consider "Stubborn Waves". I also love the good thick long cords that their products have. I've been using it for about 2 months and love it!!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review I really wanted to love this. I was in the market for a new flat iron since my hot tools broke after 4 months. I figured it was time to get a better investment and ultimately narrowed it down to two choices, I was torn between this and the babyliss nano. I ultimately decided to try this one becuase I figured DryBar has AMAZING products (seriously, try their dry shampoo) and they don't color or cut hair, they do blowouts and style so this had to be the one!I got home and obviously had to try it out right away, curled my hair and was so impressed with the volume and curls I was able to create but realized the paint was chipping around the plates. I am so disappointed. i googled and saw others with the same issues and yet I am still debating keeping because of how great the flat iron works. If the paint was durable then I would recommend this to everyone, however I am not sure how great the quality will be long-term if it is already showing some major wear after one night using.

I've had this straightener for about two years and was never thrilled by it, today I plugged it in and no matter what temp I set it to it's not heating up. I own the entire dry bar styling tools line and this is the only item that I was disappointed by. I have very fine naturally straight hair so it's not hard for me to find a straightener that works well, and this one always took a couple of passes to get a sleek look.
Great flat iron 5

I hadn't used a flat iron in a while but just got bangs and needed something to polish off my new look and tame my flyaways. This works great. It heats quickly and I can quickly run it through my hair.
Does not last long 2

This straightener was great at the beginning when I first purchased it. I have naturally curly thick hair a bit past shoulder length and it worked great for my hair the first few months. It used to only take me about 30-45 mins to straighten my hair with this straightener and then after a few months of consistent use I noticed the plates weren't working as well. It started taking me about 1.5 hours to straighten my hair with it versus the 30-45 mins it would take me before. I literally had to section my hair into one inch peices and go over it multiple times just to get it to straighten completely. I had only had the product for less than 6 months and never dropped it. It's not worth the money for the amount of time it lasts!
Not for curly hair! 3c+ 1

This product does not work on curly hair, easily the worst flat iron i have ever used. It causes your hair to poof within 20 minutes of straightening.
LOVE IT 5

I love this straighter, the color is super cute as well! It's so smooth, my hair is DEAD and even with this straightener my hair just slides so smoothly. I use it mostly for curling my hair, with this straighter I don't feel like I'm yanking my hair off my head. DEF recommend :)
Worth it! 5

I wanted to fine a good straightener and one felt in my hand so going into ULTA I held all the displays they had. Its thin and light. I really like how the on/off and temperature buttons are on the inside. the cord is really long so gives you plenty of room to move about if need be. The side of the barrel is covered enough to where if you move your hand placement- no burning. This iron straightens perfectly. One swipe and I'm done.. no frizzes. My daughter with curly hair also tried it and it left her hair super straight in half the time it usually takes her. It also heats up super quick. The reviews I read weren't helpful so I took a chance and I'm happy with my purchase.
Not for longer, thicker hair 3
Candi from Ohio
My hair is down to my mid-back and is very thick. This flat iron just doesn't cut it for me. I had to give it to my daughter who has thin, bob-length hair. That's about all it can handle.
Not worth it 3

It's a good flat iron to straighten your hair and curl it but it died in 4 months
I would not recommend this to anyone 1
Lina from Reno, Nevada
I haven't had it even a month and one of the plates stopped working. I really wanted to love the product but it wasn't performing the way I wanted to and then it just stops working . So much money just for it to break.
love all drybar items, but this one, not so much 3

iron was working fine yesterday, went to plug in today and it won't turn on at all. paint is chipping bad and it's always in a holder with rubber inside so it shouldn't be chipping. I did like the iron before it quit, but it's way too much money to spend on something that doesn't even last 2 years.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend... 1

I straighten my hair on average 2 times a week... maybe 1 some weeks. I purchased one of these in March 2020 and it started to smell burnt and completely shut off and stopped working in November 2020. I exchanged the broken one for a brand new one and the one side of the heat plate stopped work in February 2021. This is not the quality that I expected from Drybar. Unfortunately, I will be excanging this again for a Dryson Corrale.
Wow, I wish I would have read these before I purchased. 3

I loved this at first and really liked the way my hair felt. Lately not so much and today I discovered the reason. One of the plates is not working. I see that this seems to be a common trend that I wish I had known about. Now I am getting the run around from Drybar about the warranty and how long it will take them to repair and or replace - oh and no one to even answer the phone. Not very good customer service.
Best straightener I've ever owned 5

I use this almost everyday. It straightens and curls perfectly!
I'd give it zero stars if I could 1

I bought this 13 months ago and after spending a substantial chunk of change on it- figured it would last me for years like my last Chi did (7 years!). I was wrong. Not only did one plate stop working all together, the paint is chipped beyond belief and I am not that hard on my products. They do have a 2 year warranty so I'm waiting for them to sort that out but I'd really just like my money back and to get one that will last! Wish I'd read reviews before buying so I could have stuck to my tried and true. DO NOT BUY!
Mine's 2 years old now and still works great 4
Anna from US
I don't want to let so many negative reviews scare people off. I would give it 5 stars, but I really do wish that the plates were longer. I bought a Babyliss at the same time that I bought this one like a previous reviewer did lol. I also returned the babyliss. That thing snagged my hair horribly.
Before I started using this, I had a 12+ year old Chi. When I got it, Chi was one of few companies who made high end flat irons lol. Makes me feel so old haha. The ones from back then were actually high quality. Like I said, over 12 years old and it still works well. Plus the plates are longer. The on/off switch snapped off a few years ago. I cried lol. I sorta fixed that with superglue by gluing it into the on position. So whenever it's plugged in, it's on. I dealt with that for years, but kept leaving the house and then getting paranoid that I'd forgotten to unplug it. A few times I actually did, eek.
I finally decided that I'd just get one with auto shutoff. When I bought mine, I read a million reviews. A lot of people complained about chipping paint. I wasn't too worried about that. I thought oh well, I won't care if it's ugly as long as it gets the job done. Maybe I'm just lucky, but mine hasn't chipped at all. When reading the reviews before I bought it, I thought that maybe using the higher heat settings caused the paint to chip off. Now I don't think that that causes it because I usually crank it up to 400-425 -gasp-. Lol, hair is stubborn, okay.
I really hope that it lasts for at least a long time.
Nope... 1
Disappointing Product from Massachusetts
It's a nope from me. Stopped working after about a year of owning it. Paint is chipping, and has discoloration. Such a bummer because I love the wrap party from Drybar. Hoping that last longer than this..
I would not buy this product again 1
Kim from Johnson City Tn
Do not buy dry bar flat iron! I bought my first one and it stopped working within a year. Just thought it was a fluke so bought another, it made it a little over a year... I can't believe I wasted so much money!!!
Not as good of quality as I had thought 2
Lavender from Columbus, OH
This isn't a terrible straighter, it heats up quickly and is good for traveling internationally because of the voltage required.
I was very disappointed though because for as expensive as it is, the flat iron is painted and easily chips.
I also dye my hair and I like it curled, but the outside of the flat iron stains (I can't get the stains off) and makes me worry about the durability of the product and how long it will last me before I have to get another one.
I have had this flat iron for maybe six months now and I don't mind it, but I don't think I will be buying another dry bar styling tool again. With my lifestyle it seems like it's not the right fit.
I used to love it... 3
Brittany from Mankato, MN
When I first bought this iron I loved it. But about two years in the paint started chipping and flaking, and my hair started to snag. I would have imagined it to last more than two years before it starts to break down.
Plate went out 1
Steph from Sacramento
Seems to be an issue with Drybar and their products that stop working. I've had this less than a year and my lower plate went out. Shouldn't pay this much money for something that doesn't even last a year. Guess I'll be going back to CHI since I never had any issues with their products.
Broke after 2 months of using 1

I loved this and used it for about two months until it started to have problems opening and closing. I am very disappointed
Quit working 1

Loved it for all 6 months that it worked! One side of the iron is not heating up. It's far too expensive to break so quickly.
Impressive! 5

So I walked into Ulta on a mission to buy the GHD platinum pro. But upon looking for it, a store manager said to me "do you want to save some money? You REALLY should try the Drybar iron. it's THE BEST." And it's half the price of the GHD I was wanting to buy. I figured she really must be honest if she's not trying to sell me a more expensive product. So I was feeling very confused and indecisive. I REALLY wanted the GHD after reading reviews, but this store manager really had me thinking this Drybar iron was better. I don't particularly care for the bright yellow color of it, but as long as it really works as well as she said it does.....I can overlook the aesthetics of it. In the end, I decided to buy BOTH the GHD and Drybar irons. This way I could compare them both. I've only had them for one day so I probably should have waited to give a review. But this flat iron is truly REALLY good so far! And so is the ghd, so I'm still not certain which is better. However I can say for sure that you can't go wrong with Drybar. It heats up quickly and glides through my hair like butter. My hair looks amazing after using it and even looks healthier and shiny! I'll update my review later after using it longer, but you won't be disappointed if you buy this (at least in my opinion). Go for it!
Love this! 4

I really like this straightener, I've had for over a year and use it daily. It works really well and heats up super fast. Highly recommend!
I wouldn't buy again 3

I had higher expectations for this flat iron. I had my chi for the last 11 years and after wanting a bit of an upgrade ...decides to go with dry bar but after a couple of uses I decided i had to exchange for a new chi.
