Does this have to be removed like nail polish, or does it soak in like a serum?

I have been using this product for a few months now, and it did work a little bit but not much. It always peels off after I wash my hands or take a shower. Also it made my nails peel more than usual. This is a great product if you have weak nails naturally. I do acrylics and press ons so when I don't have them my nails need some assistance and this does the job.
