Wanted to love this, but 💊
I purchased this item when it first came out, and I was very excited to support a black owned brand and have another option for a mineral sunscreen that wouldn't look crazy on darker skin. It does blend in very well, although it still has a slight light cast as any mineral sunscreen is going to. How...

great sunscreen
I bought this sunscreen along with the Supergoop unseen sunscreen and I am returning the supergoop sunscreen and keeping this one. I have medium skin and this doesn't leave a white cast. I love that it works well with my skincare and under my makeup. I haven't had no issues with it pilling on me or it making my face look extra greasy. I wish that it had a higher spf but I will still be repurchasing.
Overall Good
Blended in well with my skin color no white cast and is not greasy at all. The only thing I didn't like about this sunscreen is that it pills a lot on its own (so I definitely would not wear it under makeup).
Nice!
I really love this product! You don't have to worry about white caste or this tinted sunscreen changing your natural color. I'm tanned skin and this works super well. My daughter who is a couple of shades darker loves this too. Nice ingredients too!!

I bought this to replace a discontinued mineral sunscreen that I loved and I really do like this formula. The pros are that it's thin, not chalky, feels moisturizing but doesn't stay tacky on the skin, and has a decent ingredient list. I haven't noticed it causing any skin issues for my breakout prone, combo/dry skin. My skin tone is light/medium currently but I do get more tanned in the summer and I appreciate a tinted product. It is definitely different from the tint you might find in a tinted moisturizer in that it basically blends into nothing on your skin and is there only to mitigate any white cast from the physical sunscreen. It doesn't look "makeup-y" in any way or like you're wearing bronzer (something I've noticed in other tinted sunscreens.) The one con I have is that I can't get it to layer well with my liquid foundation and cream base products. It seems to work ok on top of my skincare, but as soon as I apply foundation I start to notice a very fine pilling on the skin - almost powdery. I even tried mixing my foundation into the sunscreen to create a tinted moisturizer and they didn't play well that way either. It could totally just be my choice of foundation, but it's worth mentioning. Overall, I appreciate brands that create this type of sunscreen and wish more brands would focus on simple and effective products. Maybe it's better on its own, but overall it's a great sunscreen.
