Aromatherapy at its best

I feel like this moisturizer spray was designed for me specifically because I am both incredibly active and incredibly lazy. I routinely destroy myself in the gym and then can't be bothered to either take an Advil for the muscle soreness or bother to rub on lotion after my shower. Not only that but ...sleep has become a struggle for me as well, no matter how carefully I stick to my nighttime sleep hygiene. So indeed, how perfect for me is this product then?? I'm chronically dry skinned, partly due to climate here in the frozen tundra of New York but it's an issue year round no matter how much water I drink. So this spray could be the miracle I have been waiting for. Now, my main question going into this…can Mg even be absorbed through the skin? Apparently the answer is yes, but if you are truly Mg deficient, you're better off taking a supplement as the effects of a topical application are going to be localized, which if you think about it is the ideal scenario for sore muscles. Not only that but as it's a spray, it's going to be way easier (in theory) to apply to hard to reach places than a lotion would be. Also the aerosolized solution results in such a lovely cloud of lavender scent that's instantly calming. You can begin to associate the scent in your nighttime wellness ritual, priming you for a good nights sleep. Now, my actual experience… I used this the night after completing the 26.1 CrossFit challenge which left me with exhausted quads and aching delts. The bottle is a good size for getting a solid grip and being able to angle the spray most directions, although you are limited somewhat in that regard because if you tip it too far over it will stop spraying. That makes it a little more difficult to get the calves and hamstrings. If they could redesign the pump spray to be a trigger style spray, I think that would help facilitate getting coverage on the lower legs and back. The stream itself is an somewhat narrow but fine mist, just wide enough to be efficient without too much overspray (a concern on floors in my home due to a family member with mobility issues who absolutely must not slip and fall). The lavender scent is strong but not overpowering, and is floral without being sickly. I do feel like you could apply too much easily and have the scent be more than what is pleasant. However the scent does fade fairly rapidly and shouldn't interfere with other scents you might add. It dries fairly quickly and seems to absorb well, leaving your skin hydrated but not greasy. There is a slight tacky feeling if you apply too much of the product which persists even after giving it plenty of time to absorb, so I'll reiterate the need to not get carried away and use too much on any one area. I also felt that I wanted to rub the product into my skin to even out the distribution of what was sprayed because I felt like it has not gone on very evenly. I think if the spray was under pressure, and had a trigger pump mechanism, it would be much easier to get good, even coverage. It's certainly possible that using this spray on my sore muscles has reduced the amount of time for that soreness to dissipate, but that's a difficult test to validate. My advice for potential buyers would be to lean more heavily into appreciating the aromatherapy and moisturizing properties, I feel that's where this product truly shines. I'm much more likely to use this spray before bed on my dry skin, knowing that I'll also be getting the benefits of such a lovely, relaxing scent. As far as the effect on sleep, because I use a sleep tracker I can quantify my results and in the several nights I have used this as part of my bedtime wind down ritual, I have gotten a higher percentage of deep sleep when compared to the previous week. However, it has not solved my chronic 3 am wakefulness. In summary, it's a lovely scent with moisturizing properties that is a little hard to use effectively. Whether it has any additional benefits is largely dependent upon one's own personal experience with the product. This was received as a part of an educational promotion.
