Good for soreness and headaches
I'm always looking for products like this to help with chronic pain and muscle spasms. For mild aches and soreness, this balm works really well. It's not truly a balm but more of a lotion. I personally don't mind the scent - pepperminty menthol - though it is quite strong for the first hour after application. After a couple of hours the scent is barely noticeable. The balm (lotion) applies easily as you roll the steel balls across your skin. You will need to rub the product in, so while I get the idea of a slight massage with the current setup, having a way to dispense product directly onto your hand would have been better. I love how quickly the product absorbs and how it doesn't leave skin sticky or greasy. Doesn't stain clothing either if you let this absorb before getting dressed. The cooling from the menthol can be rather strong right after application and some may not like this feeling. Also - this contains arnica which can cause skin irritation and/or an allergic reaction for some people. Avoid using an ice pack or heating pad after applying this as either will really up the effect of the menthol to the point it becomes painful. As for headaches, I've been using this with tension headaches as well as migraines and it's been beneficial for both. Too bad this product isn't actually a balm, though. I'd love to be able to buy it in a 6oz or 8oz container. Having this product in a thicker balm texture might keep it from absorbing so quickly that there is no time to really massage it into sore muscles. It would also be great if this were available in a much larger pump-style container.
