Key Ingredients

  • Mandelic acid—known as the mildest alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) because of its larger molecule size—resurfaces skin without discomfort.
  • Mild polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) boost the mandelic acid effects with additional brightening and hydrating benefits.
  • Two sizes of hyaluronic acid salt enhance the hydrated, silky touch and help smooth out dry skin patches and fine lines.

Q
What shouldn't this serum be used with? Sacylic acid, Niacinamide or any others?
Asked by Positive Ashley
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
Some may develop enhanced skin sensitivity if this serum is used in combination with retinol and other retinoids (tretinoin, retinal, etc.). We recommend avoiding retinoids while using this serum. We also recommend not doubling down on products that contain exfoliant acids, such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or salicylic acid. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is it supposed to have an industrial glue mixed with mildew smell? Admittedly, it's fragrance free, but it has a concerning odor.
Asked by Odor?
Official Answer By Good Molecules - Brand Engage
Thanks for checking in! The Mandelic Acid Serum does in fact have a 'natural' smell, as our products are in fact fragrance-free. However, this should not have a strong off putting scent or mildew type smell to it. Godsend

I dont think ive ever written a product review in my life but i felt so compelled to recommend this to other people! I have insanely sensitive, acne prone, oily skin. Awful combo for the girlies that need regular exfoliation but are also sensitive to everything. This is other wordly tbh. It gently...

Not good for sensitive, acne prone skin

I got this mandelic acid serum after doing research on AHA's that are good for acne prone sensitive skin because mandelic acid is supposed to be more gentle. Unfortunately it was not. My skin immediately burned when i put it on and the next day I had huge cystic pimples all over me. It also feels extremely sticky on the skin. Still on the hunt for a gentle AHA that wont bother my sensitive and acne prone skin. I really like the Good Molecules hyaluronic acid serum, but unfortunately I can't seem to find an AHA that works for my skin.

I loveeeee good molecules bc a lot of their products have saved my skin in the past. Unfortunately the pilling on my skin bc of this is so freaking bad. I've tried using different moisturizer and still pilling. I've even looked up the correct way to layer it and it literally still pilling! I wanted to love this so bad because I am a true ride or die for molecules, but this just wasn't for me and I didn't even clear my dark spots :/

It's gentle enough that it doesnt cause skin irritation, but it's strong enough to be effective. Skin was brighter and healthier just after a couple uses. 10/10

I've used a few time. I don't see an immediate difference but I also don't see any irritation. I will finish but I think I'd try something else next time.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Gentle exfoliator

I enjoy GM products. Great prices. This is a good gentle aha exfoliator if you cannot handle glycolic, lactic etc… however, my bottle formulation consistency is extremely thick. Its still a serum but almost gel like so the dropper refuses to pull product. I also noticed some red skin congestion after use. Possible purging or maybe the formula is a bit thick for my skin? Either way, it does make your skin soft after use. No scent. Dries down well with no tack. No stinging. Recommend if you are looking for a cheaper mandelic acid option!
