Glaringly Inoffensive

I received this product for free from Influenster and Jimmy Choo in exchange for my unbiased review. I wasn't a huge fan of this cologne. It has an aquatic and spicy scent, but it smells like a fancy body wash instead of a cologne. It starts off with the an aquatic scent, similar to the sea spray yo...u'd smell from waves crashing on the beach. This is complemented by some spiciness that becomes apparent in the first few minutes after spraying. The base ends with a deeper, more masculine scent, but I can't really explain it. I would definitely describe this as a summer or late spring cologne due to the smell. The start is really strong, both in terms of scent and sillage. I found that body heat REALLY amplified the scent, moreso than other colognes i've tried, but that may be just due to the very strong atomizer on this bottle. The bottle is generally nice, with mainly glass construction. The chrome top is supposed to look like metal, but is actually a pretty cheap-feeling plastic. I could easily bend it upwards, which kind of made the overall experience cheaper. The pump atomizer is high quality, and provided a wide and strong spray. Despite the wide coverage of the spray, and the cologne's strong start, the smell fades very quickly. On average, it would fade in under 6 hours. This wouldn't be a problem if the base smell wasn't so faint. I could hardly notice it and if I asked someone what cologne I was wearing, they'd say I wasn't wearing any. Compared to other colognes, this scent wasn't very unique. I don't see myself wanting to return to this one. There wasn't anything wrong with the smell, it just smelt very generic, and lacked any depth. It seemed better suited for a shampoo or body wash. I don't see myself using this scent again, except in emergencies.
