Is this Sulfate free?
- Asked by LauraM
- Official Answer By Joico - Brand EngageHi Laura! Great question, the Joico K-PAK Reconstructing Shampoo is not sulfate free. To clarify, at Joico we use high quality sulfates that are cleansing enough to rid the hair of build up and debris, but not strong enough to strip hair color molecules. Our shampoos are formulated to mimic the pH of hair to ensure we are not raising the cuticular layer or causing unneeded aggression. We hope this gives you some clarification! Thanks again for your question! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you

K-Pak to the Rescue!
Years ago when I was in high school, I severely damaged my hair to the point of melting it. I had to go to the salon after hours for an emergency rescue. The hair dresser used K-Pak Reconstructor Treatment on my hair like a mask. Told me to leave it on overnight, then come back in the morning. My ha...

The new formula is TERRIBLE.
I have been using the K-Pak line for years. It smelled good, cleansed thoroughly without drying my hair out or stripping my color (even though I wasn't using the color-treated hair formula), didn't build up - I just loved it. Imagine my surprise when I picked up a liter in the new packaging in Augu...

I have been using this shampoo for 3 years now and I absolutely love it. Leaves my hair very soft and shiny
It makes my scalp itch and smell bad.
Hair Type Straight Hair
I used this for a long time years ago and really liked it. Then I started reusing it again and I noticed after using it for a while, my hair started falling out in clumps. It also made my scalp itch a lot and smell bad. I wouldn't recommend this shampoo.

I started using this again (it's pricey) and within a week my hair has already regained some of its shine, strength and volume that other products completely depleted. It also smells fresh and clean.
Horrible :(
After a month of using joico my scalp is sooooo dry and flakey! Also very itchy and started getting irritated on my scalp as well! Noticed red bumps on my scalp as well :( never using this again! I spent so much on the conditioner and shampoo last week… very disappointed
K-Pak to the Rescue!
Hair Type Straight Hair
Years ago when I was in high school, I severely damaged my hair to the point of melting it. I had to go to the salon after hours for an emergency rescue. The hair dresser used K-Pak Reconstructor Treatment on my hair like a mask. Told me to leave it on overnight, then come back in the morning. My hair was so close to being shaved off. Not only did the treatment rescue my locks, it restored them to the point of being strong enough for her to correct my color. To this day I swear by K-Pak & have used the treatment off and on when my hair was in need of a health boost. Now that I'm older, my hair (among many other things) has changed. What used to be stick straight, tangle-free, shiny hair turned in to… course, dull, matted tangles. I decided to go back to my trusted brand & try the K-Pak Shampoo & Conditioner. Wow! After just 2 uses my hair is already transformed! Not only tangle free again, but so shiny & healthy! I'm just sorry I didn't use them earlier in life. How silly of me! I know everyone's hair is different, but I'd highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't. I'm so pleased with my quick results, I just had to write a review in hopes to help someone else who might be struggling with similar issues.
