Great concept, not for maturing skin

I was beyond excited to receive the Jane Iredale Glow Time Ethereals Luminous Blush and Highlighter Sticks to try and review! I love the idea of makeup that is also skincare and was so impressed with the company and the fact that the ingredients are so clean and cruelty free. Sadly, I wish I loved t...he products as much as I thought I would. I am so into cream products right now - especially at this time of year. I love how natural they can look and literally melt into your skin. Unfortunately, I think a big part of why I didn't love these is because (and it's hard to admit!) I'm 45 and my skin is maturing. The blush and highlighter accentuated every pore they touched and made my skin texture so noticeable. I am also not a fan of glitter in my makeup and these sticks have a lot of glitter. They are super pigmented and easy to apply but the color faded quickly and I was just left with glitter all over my face. Sadly, while I was hoping for a "lit from within" glow, it didn't happen for me. All of that said, I would highly encourage someone younger with less mature skin to try out these products! The quality is incredible, and they feel amazing. So soft going on the skin, and as I said, pigmented, but may take some experimentation to get the right amount on so the color lasts longer. I did put a little powder blush on top to tone down the glitter a bit and accentuate the color. Final thoughts: great company and values, really nice product, just not the best choice for maturing or textured skin.
