How To Use

PREP

Pro Tip! Do not soak hands or wet them before or during your prep. Dry nails are crucial for proper adhesion.

  1. Shape nails using the Shape Up side of the file in your Gel Essentials Kit or a regular nail file.
  2. Gently push back cuticles from your nail plate using the wood cuticle pusher in your kit or any regular pusher.
  3. Lightly buff with the Shape Up side of your 240 grit file from your kit or any regular nail file to remove the shine from your nails. Think gentle exfoliation, not construction work!
  4. Wipe your nails with the Prep Pad from your kit or 99% Isopropyl Alcohol on a lint-free wipe--not cotton balls which can leave debris that'll mess with your gel finish. This removes debris and oil, and temporarily dehydrates your nails, creating the perfect foundation for strong adhesion.

Pro Tip! Do not apply any hand creams or oils until AFTER your top coat is cured.

APPLICATION

Pro Tip! Do one hand at a time and keep coats THIN. We're not frosting a cake. Most importantly, keep gel OFF skin.

  1. Set up your lamp. Using dry hands, plug the included USB cable into a standard USB wall charger and connect it to a wall outlet, or plug it into a laptop.
  2. Shake ALL your bottles really well for 30 seconds to blend the ingredients together.
  3. GELement Base Coat: Start by painting the free edge, then apply a THIN coat down the center, followed by each side. Make sure you avoid getting gel on your cuticles and skin by leaving a small space around the perimeter of the nail.
  4. Cure: Insert 4 fingers all the way into your lamp. Hit the button and wait 60 seconds for the light to turn off. Then your thumb gets its solo moment for another 60 seconds.
  5. Color: Start by painting the free edge, then apply a THIN coat down the center, followed by each side. Keep away from skin!
  6. Cure: Insert 4 fingers all the way into your lamp. Hit the button and wait 60 seconds for the light to turn off. Then your thumb gets its solo moment for another 60 seconds.
  7. Repeat steps 5-6 for a second coat.
  8. GELement No-Wipe Top Coat: Start by painting the free edge, then apply a THIN coat down the center, followed by each side. Keep away from skin!
  9. Cure: Insert 4 fingers all the way into your lamp. Hit the button and wait 60 seconds for the light to turn off. Then your thumb gets its solo moment for another 60 seconds.
  10. Show those nails some love with Glow Up Nail & Cuticle Oil! Just a drop at each cuticle line will help moisturize your skin. For full tutorials and tips and tricks on how to prep, apply, and remove your gel, head to YouTube to watch GELiversity.

Mani at home

I stopped getting acrylics in August and honestly hate going to get my nails done so I was very excited to see I was receiving this product now that my nails are healed and grown out. I think the concept is great, a gel mani at home, but the light is not very strong and I had to cure my nails about 4x for each layer. Overall I will still use it, but that is something to take into consideration.

Note, this product was gifted to me, but it's a honest review. This is a really nice, high quality gel manicure DIY set. The finished manicure is the same, or better than, salon quality. What I liked better about it is that I could apply it extremely thin. Sometimes when I get gel, it looks like a thick layer on top of the nail. This set looks like regular polish. The process of applying it is almost exactly like it is in the salon, it really didn't take much longer than a regular at home manicure, especially because your nails are dry at the end, but my issue with this kit is that I am terrible at painting my nails and this kit doesn't leave much room for error. With regular polish, if I make a mistake the polish on my skin just chips off and I have a perfect manicure. With the gel set, you're curing each layer, so if you have any polish on your skin, even if it's topcoat (which is hard to see on the skin) or if the polish runs into the side of the nail, it is hardened and while it rips off it also ruins the manicure a bit. Other than that, the polish has stayed on the nail really well. The instructional videos it comes with were also great and helpful.

This is such a fun little DIY at home set! I am a complete newbie to this, I usually only ever use regular nail polish so I was a little intimidated at first. But after using it, I was so thrilledhow easy and user-friendly it actually is! The results turned out wonderful and it was so funny to use.

I recently received the OPI Gelamént UV Gel Light device, and I've been really impressed with how easy and convenient it is to use. I love that it comes with extra items like an alcohol pad and nail files. Those little additions make the whole process feel more complete and beginner-friendly. The UV light itself works quickly, with a curing time of under 60 seconds, which makes doing my nails significantly faster. The device is lightweight, simple, and a great way to achieve salon-style nails at home. Overall, it's a great option if you want an effortless gel manicure setup. This product was sent to me to be reviewed.

Total waste of time and money

I was really excited about this but havent been able to use it because of health issues. I finally got a chance to try it tonight. I cured it twice the recommended time for each thin layer. It wasnt even close to cured. It was so wet still afterward that i was literally able to wipe it off on a rag. Absolutely ridiculous waste.
