I tried this complimentary product courtesy of Influenster for reviewing purposes. I used this in combination with the Kristin Ess Daily Cleansing Shampoo and the detangling tonic. I personally am not a huge fan of in-shower conditioners. My hair is very fine while still having a lot, and in-shower conditioners tend to leave my hair weighed down. Also when I was younger I had an issue with some in-shower conditioners turning my fair hair green. With that being said, I wasn't ...

Left with tangles and dry hair

Submitted 2 years ago

By Fine, Curly Girl

From Florida

There is no way that this is shine enhancing. It does NOT detangle hair. I had to add the fragrance free, deep conditioner/mask to get a comb through my fine hair. Leaving knots in your hair does not enhance shine; neither does breaking knots off. Conversely, Dessert Essence Fragrance free conditioner works well.

Still tangled

My fine, thin curly hair was still tangled after using this. I had to use another conditioner just to get the tangles out. Good that it's fragrance free – doesn't attract insects here in the South.

Not moisturizing or detangling enough for Asian hair

Submitted 3 years ago

By Eileen

From Santa Clara

For my coarse Asian hair this product is only passable at detangling and moisturizing. I'm allergic to artificial fragrances so I use it. I don't hate it, and it doesn't trigger any rashes. But if there was something better out there in my price range I'd buy that instead. Once I work it through my hair I leave it in for a while. Unfortunately, despite careful handling, it tangles right up again during rinsing. Combing is kind of miserable and after blow drying the hair feels dry. So, I end up using a whole lot to compensate. I would really wish for even more richness, thickness and detangling. I guess for my hair type it's kind of the opposite problem than for a lot of other people.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Very soft

I love this conditioner. It leaves my hair very soft and you don't need a ton to do it's job. I would say it does help with shine but I have naturally wavy hair and it's hard to tell if it's shiny or not. I would definitely repurchase it

I'm a prior stylist who had to step away due to developing severe skin allergies to several chemicals and sadly, fragrance. It is impossible to find decent quality shampoo and conditioner that is fragrance free let alone the other bonding agents etc that I'm allergic to- but I found one! This! Love the shine enhancing shampoo and conditioner both. My hair felt great after using them. A little goes a LONG way with the shampoo so beware the first time you use it! Please don't ever stop making this. Per my derm specialist allergies to fragrance are affecting something like 20% of the population and growing rapidly.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
