DIBS Beauty Double Standard Primer & Mascara Duo

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I love that this product contains the primer and mascara together in one item. It's easier to manage than having them be separate. I also appreciate that the primer is brown instead of the white one a lot of other brands have. I think this mascara looks pretty good and adds volume but it does not add curl. I also have found that after several uses, the mascara side has gotten clumpy and thick, resulting in a more spidery look than I like.

After wearing the primer and mascara, my lashes felt a bit heavy, but if you wear them separately, the lashes looked fine. I would say there are better mascaras out there.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I was really excited to try this mascara out, especially since you're essentially getting 2 products for the price of 1. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with it. Pros first: definitely has long wear, I wore it all day long and it held up to its 12 hour promise without flakes or smudges. I even had a hard time getting it all off with makeup remover at the end of the day. No overly chemical smell, and the color of both the primer and mascara were lovely. Honestly I would wear the primer all by itself and I preferred the wand on the primer side as it was smaller and easier to be precise and clean with the application. Cons: Messy application on the mascara side, I was not fond of how big the wand was as it was really easy to get the product all over my eyelid which I had to go back and clean up after it had dried down. My lashes are naturally pretty long, but they have little to no curl on their own. When I applied the primer they were able to hold the curl I put in them with a curler, but once the mascara went on top it really weighed them down, especially as the day wore on. I've used drugstore mascaras that lasted as long as this one and held the curl while adding length and volume. For the price point of this product I was very disappointed as it ended up looking like I didn't have mascara on after about an hour. Maybe it would have worked fine for me with just primer or just mascara, but the whole point of this is to use both products together and get massive volume and length which I did not feel it achieved. All in all, I think it might work great for someone else, but it just wasn't for me. Pictures are clean curled lashes, lashes with primer, and lashes with primer and mascara.

The brown mascara primer alone is the only reason I am giving this a 2 star review. The black mascara is super clumpy and very heavy on the eye lashes.

I don't typically do a lash primer before applying my mascara, however, Dibs Beauty Double Standard Primer & Mascara Duo worked wonders on my thin eyelashes! The first application of brown primer lengthen my lashes and added a nice rich brown tone. This first step alone looked nice, but step two, added the plush black volume. My lashes appeared much longer, darker and thicker. My daughter said it's the best my lashes have ever looked and that this should be my new mascara! Both of the mascara brushes (as pictured) worked great, one to provide length and the other thickness. I'm really happy with this product and will certainly buy again!
