Q
I have naturally medium brown hair and I color my roots to eliminate the grey. I just had a formaldehyde free keratin treatment and it lifted the color on my hair and to a coppery brown. My hair stylist will fix the color in a week - will this shampoo help eliminate the brassyness in the meantime? Is it safe to use after a formaldehyde free keratin treatment?

Yes—our Cool Brunette Shampoo is a great temporary fix to help tone down brassiness and neutralize unwanted warm tones in brown hair. It deposits blue pigments that counteract coppery hues, giving your color a cooler, more balanced look while you wait for your salon visit. It’s also safe to use after a formaldehyde-free keratin treatment. Just be gentle—use lukewarm water and follow with a hydrating conditioner to keep your hair smooth and protected. A strand test is always a good idea to see how your hair responds post-treatment.Was this answer helpful to you

Hello, If on the lightest pieces you see more yellow/orange undertones I would recommend the Cool Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner. If you see more red/orange undertones, I would recommend the Cool Brunette Shampoo Conditioner. Hope this helps :)Was this answer helpful to you

Best blue shampoo for sensitive skin but has fragrance

I use this to tone my very dark brown, dyed hair (darkest intense brown NN). It keeps the brassiness at bay when needed, and it's especially helpful when my color needs to be refreshed soon. It can't cover grays, but nothing is worse than having gray AND red roots. I only wish this shampoo was frag...

I had a bad lightening experience and my hair was orange. I'm very sensitive and everything causes a reaction but this had no bad effects and definitely muted the orange. Used with dphue semi-perm dark brown conditioner.

I have used this product twice now. I thought it did a very nice job at toning the brassy tones in my hair. I will keep using this product. I will probably buy again.

I have naturally medium brown hair and had dyed my hair a darker brown at a salon. As it started to wash out it started to have a more noticeable red undertone that I didn't like, so I bought this in an attempt to tone it between salon visits. I have previously used a purple shampoo on brassy highlights with good results so thought this blue shampoo specifically for redness in my brown hair would work. The shampoo is drying, and even after leaving it in longer than recommended, doesn't make enough of a difference to continue to use it. Would not recommend to a friend and wish I would've read more reviews before spending so much on both the shampoo and conditioner. (Conditioner is even worse, not concentrated and shows no difference).

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Describe Yourself sensitive skin, wavy hair

I use this to tone my very dark brown, dyed hair (darkest intense brown NN). It keeps the brassiness at bay when needed, and it's especially helpful when my color needs to be refreshed soon. It can't cover grays, but nothing is worse than having gray AND red roots. I only wish this shampoo was fragrance-free. I am intolerant of many hair product ingredients due to sensitive skin, and this shampoo ticks all the right boxes except for the added fragrance. For those not intolerant of fragrances, the smell is a unisex, cologne type smell.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
