- Q
Will this shampoo remove the orange tint in bleach blonde hair?
- Asked by Blondie
- Official Answer By Joico - Brand EngageHi Blondie! Thank you for your question! The Color Balance Blue Collection will neutralize unwanted orange tones and brassiness throughout the hair. We would recommended pairing the shampoo with the conditioner for best results. Also, we would highly recommend applying only to the unwanted brassy or orange tones. With the strong blue pigment, it may turn any lighter blonde sections an undesirable shade, since yellow + blue = green. Hope that helps clarify! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
Is this product sulfate free?
- Asked by CMichelle
- Official Answer By Joico - Brand EngageHi CMichelle! Thank you for your question. The Joico Color Balance Blue Shampoo is not free of sulfate. Please note: At Joico we use high quality sulfates that are cleansing enough to rid the hair of build up and debris, but not strong enough to strip hair color molecules. Our shampoos are formulated to mimic the pH of hair to ensure we are not raising the cuticular layer or causing unneeded aggression. We hope this gives you some clarification! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you

4 weeks in so far so good
I got this product about 4 weeks ago and I honestly see the difference. For reference I got a balayage done 6 months ago and bc of covid I haven't been able to get back to the salon so my hair began to turn reddish/brassy. I started this shampoo about a month ago and my hair is now a nice dark honey...

Great product
Verified Buyer
I have very dark blonde hair that I get bleached to platinum. Purple shampoo is great but almost "too" purple. It does not cancel out the yellow and when my toner fades, it is a little yellowy brassy. I mix one part blue shampoo with two parts purple and it is perfection! My daughter stays with me when she is in town and she uses this blue shampoo for her highlighted brown hair it is works fantastically.
Best blue shampoo for bronde hair
My hair stays toned with this product. I hate when my hair starts turning brassy after a few weeks and after one wash with this product my hair is back to how it was. I've tried other brands such as Fanola and it does not work at all compared to Joico. I have not experienced dried out hair with this product and I also pair it with the joico hair masque which makes it soft. But all hair types are different so it may not work for everyone.
Dried/damaged my hair
Wow I never leave reviews but I need to save someone else from trying this. I strayed from my usual stylist and my highlights turned orange. I got this shampoo after reading reviews "my blonde turned blue/green bla bla" I thought 'great, powerful stuff! just what I need!' I put it on my orange highlights and let it sit for about 10 min. It did nothing to my color but WOW my hair has never been more dry in my life. I generally have cooperative hair that isn't damaged and I have never seen it dry like this. My blow out looks crazy. I went to my usual stylist to try to fix the orange in my hair and she said it is so dry she is worried to re-bleach because she thinks it will break off so I have to wait. It has been 3 weeks and still after one use of this product my hair is messed up. Stay away!
Worst blue shampoo I've ever used
This is the worst blue shampoo I've ever used. Ivey had it for a while now and I even use it every single time I wash my hair. I always leave it on for several minutes. It does absolutely nothing. So disappointed as we use other Joico products from time to time at the salon I work at so I had pretty high hopes for this shampoo.
Amazing for brass
I bleach my roots and tone with this shampoo alone, it works. If you read the directions it's designed to last through 12 washes, so it's not something you want to use every time you wash. It's potent and will turn your blonde hair greenish blue if you over use it. It's not for ashy blonde but for creating a nice neutral, natural clean looking blonde. The aqua shade of it will tone out orange and red while slightly toning any yellow into a natural blonde color. You want some yellow in your hair to have a true blonde shade. If you're looking for ash tones then you def want to go for the violet shampoo instead. Well I really love this shampoo and hope this helps.
