- What you should know about retinol:
- Retinol is an extremely effective and powerful anti-aging ingredient. You may experience mild redness, a warm, tingling sensation, or flaking (skin exfoliation). These conditions are normal, temporary indications that the formula is working.
- If you experience increased discomfort when using this product, revert to once every other night until skin adjusts. This adjustment can take up to 4 weeks.
- First time users and those with drier skin types may want to use this product every other night for more than 2 weeks to give skin additional time to adjust.
- For added comfort, use a mild cleanser and layer an additional moisturizer over this product.
- Limit sun exposure in general. Be sure to apply a sunscreen of SPF15 or higher during the day while using this product, and one week after stopping use of it. Note that extreme weather conditions such as wind or cold may be more irritating, so take the proper precautions to protect your face.

You recommend using clinique smart night moisturizer after using this product, however that is no longer available on your website. Will you be bringing this back? I was told to use this in place of the moisturizer at night. This is frustrating.

Clinique Smart Night Clinical MD Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment Retinol Serum, as a serum, should be followed by your favorite Clinique moisturizer after. We like Clinique Smart Clinical Repair Wrinkle Correcting Cream (or Rich Cream for those that need deep hydration). This moisturizer may be used in place of the retired Clinique Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer. When using the serum, for the first two weeks, only use it every other night, then nightly. I used this product as directed and had to discontinue it before I even made it out of the two week period where you only use it every other day. I am 29 now and recently started noticing fine lines on my forehead. I got worried about losing my youthful appearance and was going down a rabbit hole of information all the way to botox treatments. I learned about retinol and found that Clinique carries it, which made me feel more comfortable about trying it. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and feel like I am already noticing a difference I am satisfied with. If nothing else, it feels good to have a solution and to start taking care of my skin!

Love this product! I have very sensitive skin and can't use prescription retinol. Only use this every 3 days and after 2 months see an amazing difference in texture, pores and hydration. It helps my moisturizer sink in. Start off slowly with any retinol product

I got a sample of this during a promotion and loved it. I purchased a tube. It makes my skin much smoother, and the fine lines around my eyes appear to be diminished somewhat. Even though I have sensitive skin and small broken blood vessels on my cheeks, this product does not irritate.
