This is the product I have been unsuccessfully searching for for years! I have fine hair which is flat, lifeless and completely unmanageable without some product in it, but which is simultaneously very easily weighed down by most products (thus my fruitless searching!). I tried this after discovering that my last go-to product was being discontinued (again, ugh!) and I can't believe how awesome it is. A tiny little bit gives my hair much needed texture and hold without adding any weight. The matte finish leaves my hair looking clean and not at all greasy. Don't be put off by this product being in a men's line, it is fantastic on my chin-length bob.
First of all I must disclose that this review is based on BEARD use, take that as you will. My beard is upper chest length, coarse, and very wavy, Redken's Clay Pomade does a great job controlling it and does not leave a sheen or any oily or other residues. Redken has been a provider of fine hair care products for a long time and as such enjoys a reputation that precedes them. The reason i gave them 5 stars for an excellent performing product is for 2 main reasons, 1. Smell... The aroma of the product, To me it it has a sweet and almost floral smell to it, which is not typical for a men's hair care product. I personally would rather see a wood smell or unscented 2. Chemicals... The list of ingredients is virtually unreadable, I would say that I prefer to use MUCH more natural products, but in their defense, maybe it is but the layman would never know. and all the different added colors do concern me. Conclusion: As long as the chemicals and smell dont bother you this is a great product that will perform better than most in hold and control of most hair and beards, it states it is for fine hair but worked great on my coarse beard. However, in today's market there is no shortage of natural products for your hair, while natural does not necessarily mean better, you do not need a chemistry degree to know what your using.

The smell is amazing and it really holds his hair very nice. It seems to be good quality and doesn't leave gross stuff behind in his hair. It also seems that this product will last us a while. Highly recommend the product and will switch to this full-time.

We use this pomade to help style my five year old's hair. He loves the hold and the grip that htis pomade gives.

I've used a fair variety of different hair products and this one is definitely an interesting selection from Redken. To be transparent I'm really not feeling the gritty texture that you get when you apply this product. Especially on dry hair - in my opinion you should definitely avoid using this on completely dry hair. It's way too thick and, again, gritty, that it just seems to clump up and leave you with somewhat of a tangled mess.

Redken Brews clay pomade offers a great long lasting professional look. I would apply a very small amount in my hair after the shower and it would last all day. With most pomades I would have to wet my hair or reapply at least once throughout the day. Not with Redken! It held and kept my hair looking great.

I wanted to like this, but it just isn't as good as the product I normally use and therefore didn't care for it.

I have been searching for a pomade that works for me for YEARs, and now with Redken Brews Clay Pomade, I finally found one. Just the smallest dab keeps my hair in place for an entire day, and doesn't leave any buildup!

So, I haven't had pomade in my hair for years.... I wasn't happy with it, tried various types of product and lately I've just used paste. I wqs very impressed on how well this product held my very thick and curly hair. It honestly surpassed my expectations. Smelled great, and washed out easily.

I used this clay pomade for a couple weeks and I didn't have any problems with it. However, I wouldnt say it it better than my Davines or Hanz de Fuko pomades. I thought this one was a bit too slimy and took a while for the texture to hold my hair in place. Had to wear a hat in order to make sure it was the way I wanted my hair to look slicked back. I would give it a 7/10.

This is the first time I have used Redkin for any of my beauty needs and I am impressed. The hold is amazing stays the entire day. The pomade does look discussing but it definitely surprised me by how well it works and how it doesn't feel oily in my hair. Definitely recommend it!

This sample of Redken Brews Clay Pomade for Men is very impressive and high quality. As a man who uses hair products almost daily, I see immediately the quality of this product. However, I have course and curly hair that responds better to conditioning products rather than thick hold products such as clay, so I did not have the target experience. This product holds extremely well and is dry, not greasy. For my hair it makes it appear too wild and unkempt because it's naturally curly. I will give to a friend who likes clay pomades instead. Thank you for allowing me to review.

Great hold all day long! Great for short hair or even 4 inches or longer. Smells like a cross between pomade and shampoo that hints at a cleaner and sharper looking man is coming through.

This was a great pomade and I have been using pomade for the past three years. The first one I tried was a completely natural one but even though I liked the composition, it did not have great hold. While this did not have the natural ingredients, it did what it was supposed to do and extremely well! I really enjoyed how it made my hair feel and look. I have very curly hair and this did a good job of handling that. To top it all off, the scent was great too! One thing to keep in mind would be that this pomade will stay in your hair until you wash it. If you regularly wash your hair, this will not be an issue!

This is my favorite type of pomade. I don't want to look super slick like a 1920s wise guy, but I do need a product that will hold my hair in place and give it a little shine. This stuff is good. It's easy to work through your hair and holds well throughout the day, especially for taming unruly spots that like to stick up, like cowlicks.

Firm holding, but soft enough to run your fingers through your hair without greasy messiness. This clay pomade by Redken Brews had a masculine scent, and was easily applied with some wet fingers to my damp hair. I used it daily for weeks and was always amazed at how it made my hair feel.

I've used a lot of different pomades and this Redken by far is the best pomade to keep all my hair in place. Even on the crazy days at work my hair is still in place at the end of the day.

This was actually my first ever clay based hair product. The hold is amazing but my hair feels waxy so I'm only using it when I'm really active and need extra hold. There's very little smell to the product, slightly earthy if I had to name the smell.

I tried this pomade for my stubborn hair and was surprised to see how workable my hair was after an application. I might have laid it on a little thick, but at least it's working! It leaves my hair just a little bit sticky after use, and definitely need to wash my hair out at night, but for those instances where I really need to get my hair a certain way, I'm confident that this is the pomade I will be going for! Great stuff!

I've been growing my hair out and I've noticed that while gels keep most hairs down, little hair tend to still escape the capture making the hair style look a bit messy. But with this pomade I managed to keep all the hairs down and it gave my hair that wet-ish kind of look which is something I always looked for in gels. While the substance itself is annoying to touch due to how sticky it gets, it's definitely worth it for those days where you need something with a strong hold and a beautiful sleek finish

This product is works very well. Love the putty mixture as it goes on easy and works extremely well. My only complaint would be a personal choice as the firm is too strong for my liking.

First off, the product has a very pleasant smell. It's masculine and approachable. The texture is light and easy to apply. Although it is light, I was surprised how little product was needed. I have coarse, thick hair and was still able to use minimal product to create a look. The hold also lasted surprisingly well. The product easily washed off my hands and hair. I was not thrilled with the styling it provided, however. While I was able to create a look, it is not strong enough to structure or move my hair as I would prefer without having to use a copious amount of product. This product is better suited for people with thinner and soft hair.

I was skeptical at first since I have never used this brand before. Too my surprise it helped style the perfect hair do without the greasy mess. I couldn't even tell it was in my hair but kept my hair styled all day.

I can't say enough about this pomade. I have used multiple different brands, and found there is a fine line between a strong hold and a hassle washing it out. Redken Brews Clay Pomade for Men walks that fine line perfectly. It is easy to use, has a pleasant smell, has a very strong hold, and is not a hassle to wash out. Highly recommended.

I like a more firm hold in my hair when I'm moving around. But this is great for going out for a few hours!
