I purchased the 1st one because I liked the size. I did my nails once and it wasn't very effective the next time I used it. It doesn't have a strong enough grit to truly shape your nails. It's difficult to use because once your nail goes across the surface once, that portion of the file is done for....

Block file descent but Flowery Flip file is still the best
the 4 way block is okay but please bring back the Flowery flip file back in pink! I loved how it filed natural nails without fraying or damagjng them. this block file is a close 2nd place.

Works well to smooth out nails, but the #4 side that is supposed to shine the nails does not deliver. Still needed another product to shine the nails after using this.
Not crazy about the colors
The colors on the Blue Max 4-Way Buffing Block are pine green, white, charcoal, and grey -- not as lively as the Flowery 4-Way Nail Buffing Block that comes in a bag. Can't comment on the use because I returned after ordering online. Very lightweight -- a pro.
