What is the shelf life of this mascara?

Ridiculous

Applies easily, lengthens and separates my lashes. I have sensitive skin and have to be careful of products and I am happy with the formula.
No smudges, thin brush easy to apply
Love it!! Like the thin brush and the fact that it doesn't cake up your lashes very smooth
Disappointed
I didn't want to believe the "it smudges" reviews because I love Benefit Rollerlash so how different could it be. Well it's true it smudges throughout the day. By the end of work I'm Rocket Racoon. Great deal during 21DOB but sadly it's going back.
Hard to Apply/Smudges on Face During Day
I only purchased this mascara because it came in brown. Unfortunately, Ulta still sent me the jet black color. I decided to still try to use it, mostly because I did not realize Ulta's mistake until after the return deadline. While I normally love Benefit products, I do not love this mascara. It is difficult to apply because it easily smudges and flakes off, leaving big clumps of thick, black product on my face. (I do not have this issue with other brands.) It clumps on my lashes, and then flakes all over my face when I try to use an eyelash separator to fix the clumping. During the day, the mascara will smudge onto my upper eyelid and into the outer corner of my eyes. (Again, I do not have this issue with other products.) On the bright side, it does make my lashes look nice and long. I just have to keep an eye on them during the day to remove any smudging that shows up.
