Q
Is this shampoo good for a sort of dry scalp?
Asked by Katherine
Official Answer By Redken - BE
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. For a dry scalp, the Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo can be beneficial, though its primary focus is on repairing and strengthening damaged hair. Here's why it's a good choice for overall hair health, which can indirectly support a healthier scalp: pH-Balancing Formula: This shampoo has an acidic pH, which helps to seal the hair cuticle. A balanced pH can also create a healthier environment for your scalp. Bond Repair: It's formulated with Citric Acid and our Bonding Care Complex to reinforce weakened bonds in damaged hair. While this directly targets hair integrity, healthier hair can reduce stress on the scalp. Gentle Cleansing: It offers a gentle cleanse, which can be important for a sensitive or dry scalp, preventing further irritation from harsh ingredients. While it's not specifically a dry scalp treatment, improving the overall health and condition of your hair can certainly contribute to a more comfortable scalp. For persistent or severe dry scalp concerns, you might also consider incorporating a dedicated scalp treatment. Was this answer helpful to you

A Godsend

I received these #complimentary products from @redken and @influenster in exchange for my honest feedback…. ✔️Totally worth getting the whole set for better results. My hair is loving it! This in my opinion is comparable to Olaplex, but so much better. ◾️If your looking for a good PH balanced...

Ruined my friend's hair color

I received this product free in exchange for writing a review. When I realized it's for colored hair, I gave it to a friend who recently got her hair colored by a professional at a salon. While using this shampoo. she saw the color coming out of her hair going into the bathtub. When she was finished...

Changed my hair texture and created more breakage

I decided to try this shampoo/conditioner after a couple years of using the Redken All Soft curls line, I heard all the hype and thought it would fix my few split ends. I was getting haircuts every 2-3 months and my hair never looks healthier. First impression was great, loved the smell. But after using an entire 33 oz bottle of both my hair texture has completely changed. I have fine 2c waves, mid back length, always use a leave in conditioner, heat protectant and hair oil time to time, my shampoo/conditioner was the only thing that change. My hair feels rough, wirey and has more breakage than ever. I only wash my hair about every 2-3 days so I don't think I was over using, and I maybe use heat on my hair 1-2x/week, low heat on the blow dryer and under 300 degrees for heat tools. Immediately after my haircut I wouldn't see really any splits and come 2-3 weeks post hair cut they were popping up everywhere. Wish I would've stopped using sooner, but this product is expensive and I didn't' want to waste. Will be switching back over to the all soft line. Do not recommend.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Ruined my hair color!!

I usually don't leave reviews but I wanted to warn people about this shampoo. I have bright red hair and a stylist unfortunately gave me quite a bit of bleach damage. For years I used the Matrix Keep Me Vivid shampoo vut that was discontinued, and when I saw this was for damaged, colored hair I decided to try it. I used it once and it ruined my hair color! I now have splotches of pink on my head. My hair was dyed less than a week ago and now it's both visibly damaged AND faded. I am so upset. I would not recommend this to anyone with high maintence/vivid colors.

I wanted to love this

I have fine/medium frizzy wavy hair and I tried the abc shampoo and conditioner before I bleached it and neither were really a game changer until I got my hair bleached. After that the conditioner was just amazing but the shampoo completely dried out and tangled my hair to the point I couldn't even get my fingers through to wash it! That's never happened to me before with any shampoo and I was shocked since that wasn't the case before I bleached it and the shampoo is really supposed to be for that. I really wanted to love it so much but just be careful with this line it could be a hit or miss.

Worth the hype

I went out on a whim and decided to get this since I had a gift card and this is very expensive, and I ran out of shampoo and conditioner, i ended up getting both and the leave in treatment. Its AMAZING, i read the reviews and followed everyones notes, dont use it everyday, use it after 4 washes etc etc I normally only wash my hair about 3 times a week and this set made my hair smooth like SILK its incredibly soft and strong and Ive noticed way less fall out in the shower. My hair feels butter smooth I cant express enough how great this line is. It smells very good, it smells like expensive shampoo, a little citrusy, very fresh. I dont think I'm ever going back to normal shampoo, sucks for my wallet but nothing has ever made my hair feel like this before. I have box dyed naturally wavy brown hair for reference.
